NickHolt
I think Neal was a part-time Winston West racer who competed mostly at Ascot Park back in the 70's or 80's. At least that's what I'm told by someone who should know. Nick
txtom
Neal's only NASCAR experience was the old Grand American class, which was Camaros, Firebirds, etc. Ran about a half dozen races in the early 80's at Riverside, and one start at Ontario. Did have several top 3 finishes. As for Ascot or anywhere else, don't know.

Truck99
txtom might consider changing his handle to racipedia That's it! Please Tom, do it! On a more serious note, this is yet another example of why we cannot trust the media. It's not about the truth. It's about selling stories by creating interest. Sorry for the rant. And even back then then he was quite the arrogant a.. - Rick Carrelli and Ron Hornaday were often fodder for his "fender fits". He got team stuffed into the wall at one of our GA tour events - some say it was because of comments made about our local drivers prior to the race - some say it was just racin. Either way he was not real popular and the crowd cheered his being taken out.
