debwill
THR Drivers, Teams, Fans, Media and Staff, We’ve received a couple of questions about the request for donation of “baggies” this weekend for the Operation Interdependence (OI) event. I thought I’d clarify their request. OI would prefer quart-sized (small) Ziploc bags. We couldn’t use the brand name in our press release, but that’s the type of baggie they need. They really don’t have to be Ziploc brand . . . hey, Wal-Mart makes some good store-brand bags that are a bit cheaper! I hope we can count on each and every team to bring at least one box of baggies (or more, if possible) – would love to overwhelm the great folks at OI! It’s such a small price to pay for the men and women who are our heroes today, remembering and knowing the sacrifices that many have made so we can enjoy what we have today. Freedom is not free – may we never forget that. And, it would mean so much to the troops if you would bring some personal notes, autographed hero cards, or anything in a racing theme (would have to fit in the bags) that would brighten their day. Thank you in advance for your support of this very worthwhile cause. debwill
Thanks, Leonard, for your kind words. Yes, there's a lot to get ready for race day, but I'm fortunate that I'm feeling as well as I am. See ya Saturday??
