debwill
Shown below is the detailed Schedule of Events for the races at Thunderhill Raceway (THR) in Kyle, TX, this weekend – April 23 and 24. The highlights of this weekend’s schedule, as follows: To help diminish some of the initial rush at the pit gate, tech and garage office, the first practice session will not start until an hour after the gate opens (pit gate opens at 11:30A and practice starts at 12:30P). We will have only one Drivers’ Meeting for all classes at 4:15P. Issues specific to THR or TSRS (or Series) can be discussed with the individual groups after the main meeting (e.g., spotters’ meeting, THR procedures for new drivers, etc.). All drivers (except for Texas Pro Sedans and Dwarfs) must sign in at the garage office before 3:30P. The Thunder Stocks will be our featured class this Saturday, with Out-of-Car Driver Introductions prior to the feature event. The Thunder Stocks will have qualifying runs instead of heat races. The current track record is 17.390, set by David Snokhous on 8/11/01. The Thunder Stock feature event will also be a memorial race for Donna Burow. Our theme for this event will be “Rookie Driver Night,” with a possible additional focus on past (1998 champions), present (the track anniversary on April 18) and the future (rookies). All rookie drivers will be recognized during the opening ceremonies. As always, the number of scheduled laps and time limits may be adjusted on race day based on car counts and race conditions. The electronic scoring system will be set up for Friday evening’s Open Test-n-Tune practice session. We will continue to work on ways to effectively manage our (and your) time on race day.
