by Joy Graham

The 2009 grand finale at Golden Triangle Raceway Park will take place this Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31. Racing on the program will be all of the fast lane classes: Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Street Stock, Hobby Stock and Pure Stock. The competition should be extreme as the winning purse in each class will start at $1000 and, depending on the car count, could go up to $1200. Every driver who makes the feature line-up is guaranteed a minimum of $100.

The track will be open for a practice session on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. Grandstand admission for that night is free, but the pits will cost $20 for those 12 and older. Half price for children 11 and under. On race night the pit price is $30 for adults, $15 for children. On Friday, grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Five and under are free. On Saturday the adult tickets will be $15 but the children’s tickets will remain the same.

The Friday races will begin at 7:30 while the Saturday races will start at 3:30 in the afternoon. Special side attractions at the two day extravaganza include a salute to the 2009 track champions, $1 Hot Dog Night and Door Prizes for Kids (Friday); a Halloween Party on Saturday with a costume contest for all ages and a special Trick-or-Treat session on the track with the drivers during intermission.

Make plans to attend both nights of this racing extravaganza. Golden Triangle Raceway Park is definitely the place for family fun and excitement. The track is located on West Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, Texas.
