ASCS SPRINTS MAKE FINAL 2009 GOLDEN TRIANGLE APPEARANCE

By Joy Graham

October is going to be a month full of great racing at Golden Triangle Raceway Park.

The first will take place this Friday when competitors in the American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region make their final 2009 appearance in Southeast Texas. Their monthly shows at the local track have been nothing short of fantastic. Racing on the same program will be four of the GTRP regular classes: Limited Modifieds, Street Stock, Hobby Stock, and Jr. Mini Stock.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. and racing action will get underway at 7:45 p.m.

The sprint show will be followed by a couple of other October events. On Oct. 9th, all the GTRP fast lane classes will compete and the added attraction will be the popular Race Car Rides for Kids. The rides around the track are FREE but each child must have a minor’s release form filled out by a parent or guardian. Copies of the form are available at the track or may be copied off of the track web site.

The grand finale this year will be a spectacular two day show on October 30th and 31st. The GTRP South Texas Fall Classic will offer up big purses in every class. Racers from all over Texas and Louisiana are expected to come in for this exciting event. There will be a big Halloween Party on the last night. Costume contest and then during intermission kids will be allowed to go on the track and get treats from their favorite drivers. You won’t want to miss any of these great October performances!

Golden Triangle Raceway Park is located on W. Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, TX.
