NeilTPS Posted September 24, 2009 Report Share Posted September 24, 2009 TPS PURSE INCREASES $600 to win $4,120 Texas Pro Sedans Purse at THR on October 10 Saturday night, October 10th will be the final 2009 season race for the Texas Pro Sedans touring series. TPS will hold their tenth event of the year and complete the 34th consecutive TPS racing season as part of the 13th annual “Thunderhill Raceway Stock Car Spectacular”. TPS Race & Administrative Director, Neil Upchurch announced that due to Osburn Racing’s recent sponsorship postings, $600 is guaranteed to the winner of the 34 lap Texas Pro Sedans feature race. In addition, the total purse has been significantly increased over traditional TPS purse payouts at and increased to $4,120 if the expected twenty car field starts the race. Osburn Racing has also posted a $50 “Hard Charger Bonus” to be paid to the driver who advances his starting to finishing position the most. Upchurch credited the $600 to win purse to “Stock Car Spectacular ” - primary sponsor Tom Lorenz of Hoosier Tires Southwest and Jerry Spencer, Hoosier Tires at Thunderhill Raceway. TPS Associate Race Sponsors at the “THR Stock Car Spectacular” include: Osburn Racing of San Antonio ($100 to added purse, $50 added to winners share and $50 Hard Charger Bonus) Richard and Bea Villanueva of San Antonio ($100 added to purse) Nelson Skinner, Attorney at Law, San Antonio ($100 added to purse) Buggy Warehouse of San Antonio thru Steve Foster ($100 added to purse) The Texas Pro Sedans October 10 race format will consist of 2 Qualifying time trial laps at 5:00pm followed by a 34 lap Feature Race at 7:00pm for the TPS four cylinder stock cars. The Feature Race length of 34 laps will salute TPS’s 34th consecutive season. A large field of 22 TPS cars and drivers have filed their entries. Former Texas Pro Sedans Champion who have filed their entry include: Sergio Hexsel (2008, 2007 & 2005), Bill LaBarge(2004, 2003, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1992). The “Thunderhill Raceway Stock Car Spectacular” special event is the largest race of the season at the Kyle Texas track and will include the following racing touring series and THR classes: TEXAS PRO SEDANS, TSRS ALLISON LEGACYS, DWARF CAR RACING SERIES of TEXAS, SPORTS MODIFIED’S, ASA A-LINE SUPER STOCKS, PRO TRUCKS, PRO MODIFIEDS and the TEXAS SUPER RACING SERIES. THUNDERHILL RACEWAY CLASSES COMPETING on Friday night October 9 include: MINI STOCKS, NasKarts, THUNDER STOCKS and GRAND STOCKS. Thanks to all, hope Lalo makes it also, would be good to see Lisa and Jesse as well and oh yes OT also. unless we can borrow your bottom end and you replace both bent valves in our head ..and whatever other parts we may need .it wont happen ..... may take a ride up there and watch ..just have to see what work does ....was looking forward to bringing the car up .had some plans on putting a hurt on everyone and get a win ..well i said looking forward ..i quess it will have to wate till next year ..........maybe we will have four cars up there next year ..cant let ozzy have all the fun with all his cars .. Pete Wright #77 has posted an additional $100 into the general purse for even distribution to the last 10 positions. Pete's posting is in the name of - Diamond RP Ranch - Poolville, Texas. For those who don't know, Pete is one of six original "Charter" members of TPS at the first business meeting which took place 34 years ago at Import Cars & Parts in San Antonio. Thanks Pete.
