PAPA
Nick Any word on how the young boy in the Bando wreck is doing? Talked to Deb late last night and she heard that they admitted him. I sure hope he is alright.
NickHolt
No word yet... Usually those sorts of lower back injuries require lots of imaging before anyone really knows anything. We're all hoping for the best though. For anyone wondering what happened, here's how it came down as I reported it on the Live Updates... (forgive all my mistakes please) ... a big wreck.. Nordan into the back straight wall Very Hard... .. Jon Fernandez got loose in one-two and the whole field scatters with several cars getting together with Nordan hitting the turn two exit wall almost head on... his car went up in the air several feet... track goes red.. The announcer's notes (thanks, Uncle Bob!) showed Coltin to be a 10-year old... Then I reported this: Lower back injury is what I'm hearing... They do go fast... and he hit that wall a TON... head on... The track is red and will stay red until .... And then I said: there is NO way he didn't get hurt even though he's ten... Since it's a lower back they're worried about they are bringing in the 1st responders to make sure they get him out of the car as carefully as possible to prevent any further injury.. He may be ok with just a sore back, but they are taking all percautions... just like any parent would want for their child.. Nick
NickHolt
Just noticed something. I thought Jason Morman was in the lead group of Modifieds at the finish. There was a last lap skirmish coming off turn four that involved Morman and Denny Burton, but I though they both crossed the finish line together. Hmmm. Wondering if there might have been a penalty stemming from that skirmish. Nick

NickHolt
I was really gratified to see how skillfully and carefully the emergency team worked to free the young man and the precautions taken to insure his health. Kudos are in order for the entire staff at HMP. Nick
