Eric, when your car is on, it is really on! Great run in your feature.

I will post full race summaries of the night later this evening under TRP. But, a quick run down of the champs. And, last night was one of the finest nights of competition, I've seen in all classes. Very good racing, and was interesting to see in most of the classes the top three or so in the chase were generally the front runners. 75 teams on hand.

Teen Mini Stocks - Heart break for Jason bloom as he ran over debris in the feature and was sidelined early. Zach Tesch came from the back of the field to the front and won the feature and ended up capturing the Class Championship. Congratulations to you Zachary. Tough luck turned to good finally for you. Zachary, you are one of the finest young men I know. Keep going thru life with the qualities you demonstrate now, and you will be a huges success in life. Congrats again on your championship.

Texana Classic Dwarfs - Andrew Cline came into the night with a good lead in points and took care of business to secure the championship. Willie Veach Jr. won the feature, with Cline 2nd, and the 2nd place finish was more than enough to wrap up the championship.

Texana Bombers - The top 3 in points were the top 3 during the entire feature. Chris Shafer pulled off the win in the feature by norhing more than a nose if anything, and also secured the championship. Brian King scored 2nd in the feature and Janet Perks got 3rd, with Janet getting 2nd in points... You all provided some of the most exciting racing all year. Congrats Chris. You worked very hard all year and it finally paid off!

Hot Stock Trucks - This class came in with only a 10 point margin separating the top 3. Rookie contender Greg "Joe" Turner won his heat and then backed it up with a feature win to secure the championship. A man of many words ;) , Greg made it look easy on the track. Congrats Greg on your 2009 Hot Stock Truck Championship

Super Stocks - GW Hessong came into the night having secured the championship. Eric Floyd had his game on and took care of business with the feature win for the night. Congrats Eric on the feature win and contrats GW on your championship!

Limited Mods & Mods - Temple Texas' Mr. Paul White added another piece in the record books to his long list of significant accomplishments. Paul won features last night in Limited Mods, and Mods, and secured the championship in each class. This was a piece of history as no one has ever won the championship in two classes in the same year in the history of Texana Raceway Park. Congrats Paul and Team Chapman!

On a personal note, I want to thank the teams for allowing me the privilege to market the racing for Texana and tell the stories about the nights after in written form. I truly treasure the huge circle of friends I've been fortunate to make thru working with Texana. As part of human emotion, competition in any form brings out some of the best and the worst in all of us. But, when it's all said and done, I will stand behind my claim that of all the tracks I've frequented in the last 25 years around the state, Texana has the closest group of competitors by and large and a very welcoming group of racers when others come to visit. For that among many other reasons, I'm proud to have been a part of this year.

CONGRATULATIONS JOE FROM ALL THE TURNER AND EVANS GANG. YOU ARE THE BOMB. I hope you didn't talk too much, you know how you can be. I guess they have never talked to you on the phone. We will be at Goliad to see you next weekend, unless baby comes or changes our plans.

After checking, I see that you are not racing next weekend. I guess we will try to go on Halloween.
