ASCS Sprints Are Golden Triangle Raceway’s Featured Attraction This Friday

by Joy Graham

The ASCS sprints will bring another thrill-packed, open-wheel show to Golden Triangle Raceway Park this Friday, Sept. 18th. As is always their custom during intermission, the sprinters will throw frisbees in the stands with their car numbers on them. The lucky fan holding the frisbee with the feature winner’s number will get their picture taken with the driver in victory lane. Also, sprint drivers will treat their fans to a brief autograph session.

Racing on the same program will be the Pure Stock Challenge. A special bonus at the pay window awaits the drivers in that event. Three other hard charging GTRP classes will be competing: Hobby Stock, Limited Modified, and Modifieds. Street stock and Jr. mini stocks are off.

The “First Response Night” that was rained out last Friday (9-11) has been rescheduled for Sept. 25. This is a special salute to all of our brave emergency first responders...so help us spread the word. All service men & women (including National Guard), fire fighters, law enforcement officers and EMS crews with proper identification will be admitted to the races FREE of charge. There will also be a special race for representatives from each of these groups.

Golden Triangle Raceway Park is located on W. Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, Tx. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. this week and racing action begins at 7:30. For more information about the Friday night races visit www.moptoramaspeedway.com or call 409-752-7200.
