NickHolt
KRISTIN BUMBERA RETURNS TO THE WEST SERIES WITH AN IMPRESSIVE RUN AT IOWA Houston, TX (September 10, 2009) – Kristin Bumbera drove for her own team, Next Generation Racing, September 4th in the Central Iowa Building and Construction Trades 125 at Iowa Speedway. Although she would start in the 21st position Bumbera knew that she had a fast racecar that would be good on the long runs. “Our strategy was to keep it safe and ride for the first 50 laps or so and then start making our way through the field. Well that plan lasted about 1 lap!” said Bumbera. “The car was so good from the green flag we started passing cars right and left.” At one point near the half way break the leader, Mayhew, who had a 10 second lead caught up with Bumbera. However, she was not willing to go a lap down and fought off the pass of Mayhew for several laps. Bumbera said, “I was not going to give it to him, he was going to have to earn it. It was good clean racing. He was better on entry but we had him covered everywhere else. Mayhew is a good racer and I enjoyed the close competition.” Bumbera finished 16th on the lead lap suffering virtually no damage to the racecar. Next Generation Racing would like to thank Century Boatland, Bumbera’s Performance Associates, Bad Fast Racecars, and Super Bouncers for their support.
