IMCA Southern SportMod regional races scheduled at Heart O’ Texas, 85 Speedway

 

Waco, TX (September 6, 2009) – A pair of regional events are on the upcoming weekend schedule for IMCA Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMods.

 

Heart O’ Texas Speedway at Waco hosts the $2,000 to win Southern SportMod Nationals on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, and 85 Speedway at Ennis rolls out the red carpet for a $700 to win show on Sunday, Sept. 13.

 

National and Smiley’s Racing Products State points will be awarded at both races. As designated regional events, neither counts toward the 55-race limit for national points.

 

The Friday program at HOT includes heat races, “B” features and a qualifying event. On Saturday, heats and “B” races will complete the starting field for the 25-lap, minimum $200 to start feature. Non-qualifiers will get $150. Entry fee is $50.

 

Top drivers in point standings at tracks that have held at least 10 sanctioned events are eligible to compete in Saturday’s $300 to win Race of Champions.

 

Pit gates and the grandstand both open at 6 p.m. Track packing starts at 7 p.m., with hot laps to follow and racing at 8 p.m. both nights.

 

Pit passes are $25. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $3 for kids ages 6-11, and children five and under get in free.

A minimum of $100 will be paid to make feature at Ennis, There is no entry fee or track registration and pit passes are $30.

 

Gates to the pit area will open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow.

 

Grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $3 for kids 6-12. Five and under get in free.
