Hey Nick,

Any way to get some of the winners? I tried viewing "live updates" and I get a Java error?

Thanks,

Mark

That's not a good thing. What operating system/ browser are you using?

It was a long night that definitely had its challenges.

On the bright side, we had over 1300 in the grandstands, 425 in the pits and over 120 cars/karts!

We did hear back on the girl that was injured and transported to the hospital from the tire and axle that flew over the pit fence. She was treated and released last night. She had to get some stitches and has some really bad bruising on her shoulders, back, etc., from where the axle hit her. I will check on the crew member that was transported to the hospital earlier in the day, probably from heat stroke.

Got into the back of another car on a re-start pileup. Damage isn't bad, but it somehow knocked radiator into the fan, ending my night way too early.

Some days are rocks, some days are diamonds. This was a rock for the 99 team.

Budman,

I'm glad you enjoyed the night. From my perspective, it seemed like several things went wrong, and I know we need to improve in some areas. We really don't want to have another show that ends after midnight. I hope that the new fans weren't too discouraged and will come back.

It was very obvious that everything that could be done was being done and being done professionally. Mary Ann has hand-picked a great staff who go above and beyond the call of duty because of their love of the sport.

Taking the time to carefully separate cars that are "locked" together after a wreck simply shows everyone how much the track cares about their teams. It's a whole lot quicker to hook up a couple of wreckers and rip them apart, but that didn't happen.

And stopping everything to care for an injured spectator - even though it wasn't on the racing surface - shows that Mary Ann cares more about an injured person than the show. Folks who can't appreciate that, don't appreciate much of anything worthwhile.

Most of the spectators there last night will be back because the racing was tight and intense. People sense the difference between a poorly run show and a show that was held up due to the safety concerns. IMHO, the show was well worth watching from the first green to the last checkered.

seemed like the the late night bug was out .. cc had the same problem .i got home at one ..probably 30.minutes after the last race .alot of time wasted by all the mishaps ..some wrecks and lost wheels .but mostly oil or water on the track from blown motors ..that time of year when motors get tired i suppose .....we left some of that .lol..... that lol hurts though .. the fire crew earned our respect .hot no wind blowing made it worst .heck it wasnt a full moon .got to wondering if three quarter moon has the same affect ...

Deb, yes the show ran a bit late, but we stayed till the bitter end. :)

Sometimes inspite of everyone's best efforts, things are going to happen that cause delays. That's perfectly understandable.

We finally got Gerald and Noka out to THR and really enjoyed visiting with them throughout the evening. I'm betting they will be back soon. We had a blast getting her as many autographs as we could. Even Christine helped out some during one of the breaks. Thanks to all the drivers who were kind enough to take the time.

After low these many years, I finally went and found Larry B. during one of the red flags and introduced myself and visited with him for a bit. Now if we could just get Dan and Steve back out there.

Dan, we missed y'all, so I ended up sitting with Gabby. But, right next to him was the nice lady from Ohio the whole evening long. :) Y'all need to get back out there.

Chase, Cary and Ed sorry we missed y'all. Chase its nights like last night that make the good nights so GOOD!

Till next time, from up here deep in the sticks. :D

(p.s. --------- I could have stayed home on the couch and watched Danica, but I didn't. That should tell you something! :P )

Budman,

Thanks for your input and wish I could have been there with you. I had planned to go all week long but come early Saturday morning my system seemed to develop a touch of the crud which I was not able to shake before the time to go to the races. Really sorry I missed our friend from Ohio and would have enjoyed visiting with PaPa. Not real sure what the rest of the season holds for Steve and I but do plan to make the Spectacular even though that will be a tight weekend for me due to other family commitments. Will be in your neck of the woods that Fri-Sat morn in Burnet but should be back in time to turn around and go to the races. Steve and I plan to do the Nashville thing again this year and found out yesterday that the All American 400 this year will be in a 300/100 lap format and will only feature the CRA series cars. Hopefully Colt and Casey will join that bunch

:D .
