TheCloser Posted October 4, 2008 Author Report Posted October 4, 2008 i think there would have been more cars if it wouldnt have been the last night of points for I37 this is a class that can run on asphalt one week then run dirt the next these would make a great touring series that runs on both asphalt and dirt Quote
JohnnyT66 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 If you can afford To change SPRINGS,SHOCKS,SWAY BAR MOUNTING,TIRES, WHEELS,GEARS,and a few other goodies to run up front ,perhaps....But if you think its just wash it and go racing_you will have the same #s that tracks that put no thought into it did..Dont these tracks already run an asphalt mod series???Why not tame them down instead of bringing in another class??And those that think a sport mod is a cheap car to build,Better talk to those that actually race them on a regular basis....Frank Torres Quote
sprintsrule Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I seriously doubt anybody that runs up front will be taking the same car and switching it back and forth between asphalt and dirt from week to week. If you just want to throw tires on it and give it a whirl that is one thing but if you want to be competitive that is a whole different story. It would require hours and hours to change the set-up along with quite a bit of money in parts. Asphalt springs and shocks will not be competitive with a good dirt car. A dirt car's springs and shocks will not be competitive with a good asphalt car. Attend Nick's seminar if you think they would be and he will show you why. Quote
TheCloser Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) we used the same wheels swapped one shock one spring and used a stock mounted sway bar and the same gears all they would need to decide on is what tire to run on asphalt Edited October 5, 2008 by sportsmod Quote
JohnnyT66 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 That will get you around the track...,I was talking about setting it up to go fast..Not just make laps..Frank t Quote
