Austin, TX (November 19, 2007) - In a drivers mind a perfect season is a rarity no matter how many top fives or wins they accumulate throughout the season. If you were to ask Texas native Casey Smith if he’s ever had a perfect season he would say “if we win the derby this year it’s about as close as we can get to a perfect season.” Smith will get his shot to make it a perfect season for his Casey Smith Racing team on December 2nd at the 40th Annual Snowball Derby at the Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.

So far this season Casey Smith has captured both the Viper Series championship from the South Alabama Speedway and the Miller-Lite Super Late Model Series championship from the Mobile International Speedway. However, so far this season, the Five Flags Speedway has been nothing but a thorn in Casey’s side, where in five Blizzard series starts Smith has only managed a best finish of twelfth.

“Pensacola hasn’t been too kind to us this year at all but that’s still not going to deter us from the derby. To me that’s what makes a great race team when you challenge yourself to be better in areas where you struggle. We plan on spending two or three days there testing and just trying different things to make our car better. The Snowball is an all or nothing race and that’s the attitude you have to have when you’re racing there, and that’s what we plan on doing, going there to win,” said Smith.

Now Casey will look to put those early season races behind him and take his pre-race preparation to the next level in order to have his best car all season for the most prestigious short track race in the country. With nearly seventy pre-entered drivers vowing for a spot in the short track racing history books Casey will look to turn a great season into a perfect one.
