44SS
Was watching the SLM race fri night, and before the race they were talking about the cars. It was the basic stuff, 3000 lbs., perimeter chassis, open motor, until they said restrictor plate and I almost spit out my beer. I thought why would they be running a restrictor plate on a 1/2 mile track, and the only reason I could come up with was na$car didnt want the series they killed to post faster times than their Grand sled series. just wondering if anyone else saw it, and maybe have another explanation. Waco Racer
I was watching and heard that too. My only guess was that since there were cars from so many tracks they had to use plates to level the field. I would think that each track has different engine rules and the open engine statement was for this race only so teams wouldn't have to spend a lot of money on their engines and the car count would be good.
