Ramey Banks ASCS Sooner Loot at Heart O' Texas

 

 

Lonnie Wheatley, WACO, Texas (September 14, 2007) – Kevin Ramey reeled off his second consecutive American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region feature win by wiring the field in Friday night's 25-lap main event at Heart O' Texas Speedway.

 

 

 

Starting from the pole position, Ramey gunned into the lead at the outset and paced the field throughout to post his fourth series win of the year aboard Tom Willis' Wells-powered Commercial Music No. 7m Eagle.

 

 

 

Fellow front row starter Travis Rilat gave chase much of the way before flipping out of contention on the 15th round.

 

 

 

Ramey ultimately took the checkered flag in front of Jason Johnson, who charged from 17th after suffering a cut tire in heat race action to snare second from Skip Wilson on the 24th lap.

 

 

 

Wilson settled third behind Ramey and Johnson, with Cody Branchcomb and Brad Best rounding out the top five.

 

 

 

Brian McClelland was sixth, while 16-year-old Kathryne Minter posted her best ASCS finish thus far by crossing the stripe seventh. Gavin Punch was eighth, with Todd Evans and Michael Brown completing the top ten.

 

 

 

Johnny Miller, Branchcomb and Claud Estes each claimed heat race victories.
