FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Mike Duvall & Jon Wallace On Doug’s Dirt Diary Radio

Marston, NC --- Legendary dirt Late Model driver Mike Duvall and Jon Wallace, two dirt Late Model drivers who will be teaming up for the 2008 racing season and will be traveling America’s highways competing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in what the duo has dubbed the ‘2008 Blaze of Glory Tour’, both appear in separate interviews on the Doug’s Dirt Diary radio program. Both interviews are now available at: www.dougsdirtdiary.com

Long time veteran superstar driver Mike Duvall, 58, of Cowpens, SC and Jon Wallace, 35, of Marston, NC, formerly a top Texas dirt Late Model racer, will combine forces for the 2008 season in what will be Duvall’s ‘farewell tour’ from active racing. Both drivers will be using the autumn and winter months securing sponsorship and preparing for the ’08 season that will begin in Florida.

Mike Duvall looks back at his long dirt track racing career and looks ahead to his Blaze of Glory Tour in 2008. He also talks about some of his biggest accomplishments, explains the meaning of the Flintstone Flyer and how much he enjoys working with young talent at his driving school. Then he talked about his wild days, what happened that changed his life and remembered a big crash that almost sent him to the pearly gates.

Jon Wallace explains why he and his wife packed everything up and headed to North Carolina to pursue his racing dreams. He talked about his Late Model racing resume in Texas, recapped his beginning in the sport at age fourteen and looked ahead to racing the Lucas Oil Series in 2008. He also told how tough it has been to sit on the sidelines this year and chatted about the uncertain future of a proud speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina.

Doug Elkins, a veteran upstate New York-based announcer who has been covering racing in the Northeast for 15 years, launched the ‘Doug’s Dirt Diary’ website on April 15, 2006. He’s been recording interviews with dirt-track personalities daily since then, amassing thousands of hours of on-line audio.

Also among Duvall’s achievements include being inducted into the Inaugural Class of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, induction in 2003 into The Dirt Track Walk of Fame at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, the 1982 National Dirt Racing Association National Championship (NDRA), a victory in the prestigious World 100 at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and scores of other high-profile races.

Wallace has been racing off and on for 20 years now and has spent the majority of his time competing in dirt Late Models in Texas and surrounding region before relocating to North Carolina. During his career in Texas he scored wins in four states, won championships at TNT Raceway and with the Texas Dirt Track Association and the Southern State Short Track Championship. He has also competed in numerous events sanctioned by SUPR, Hav-A-Tampa/UDTRA, NCRA and in the NASCAR Mid American Region. From 2001 – 2004 Wallace stepped away from racing to spend time with his family before returning in 2005 as the driver of Ron Lane’s #55 MOPAR.
