I-30 Speedway Set for $10,000 to Win 600 Nationals Next Weekend!

Lonnie Wheatley, LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (September 6, 2007) – Renowned as the home of Sprint Car racing's prestigious Short Track Nationals, Little Rock's I-30 Speedway is set to host the nation's most lucrative Micro Sprint racing event with next weekend's Second Annual 600 Nationals on Friday and Saturday, September 14 and 15.

The nation's top 600cc Micro drivers will descend upon the high-banked, ¼-mile I-30 Speedway clay oval next weekend to vie for a staggering 600cc Multi purse that includes a whopping $10,000 earmarked for the winner.

Joining in on this year's edition of the 600 Nationals will also be the Horizon Mini Sprints, commonly referred to the Restricted "A" Class in many parts of the county, with $1,000 tabbed for the winner.

Following a test and tune practice session on Thursday night, September 13, two full nights of racing action will follow with the top six finishers in Friday night's 600 Nationals preliminary feature locked into Saturday night's $10,000-to-win finale. The balance of the field will start with a clean slate in the battle to fill out the 24-car starting field, with all starters collecting a minimum of $400.

All non-qualifiers will also collect $275 on Saturday night.

The Horizon Mini-Sprints will be in action on both nights as well, with the top six in Friday night's feature locked into Saturday's $1,000 to win finale. All starters in the Horizon Mini Sprints championship feature event will collect at least $100.

A total of 126 drivers from throughout the nation competed in the inaugural edition of I-30 Speedway's 600 Nationals last year, with Osceola, AR, Micro ace Travis Senter, Jr., fending off a legion of out-of-state invaders to capture the $10,000 winner's share.
