Mike Riley
Drivers_Begin_Arriving_Today___July_3_1933_Zoom.pdfI found a few articles about the first stock car track and first stock car race in Corpus Christi. The first race was held on a Tuesday, July 4, 1933 and had 1,000 spectators. See the attached article. I apologize for the quality.

Mike Riley
Here's another article from July 5, 1933. This article describes the July 4 races. Here's another one dated July 7, 1933. This one talks about the upcoming races on Sunday. Notice that they are expecting 2,000 spectators. Budman
Well, I'm too lazy to install a link, so I'll just bump an old thread to the top of the History Section I posted some time ago. It includes an entry list of drivers for a 1955 midget race in Corpus. Not sure what track it was.

Budman
Naw, I'm way up on top of a ridge, high and dry and the third temporary bridge they put in on the creek down below is still holdin' up so far. The County tells me they're gonna put in a new concrete bridge with some of that "disaster money" they got from the feds.
