ChuckLicata Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 Cody Smith's dad, Tom Smith, called me tonight to give an update on Cody's progress in the ASA Late Model Series Southern Division practice at the Watermelon Capital (GA) Speedway, located South of Macon in Cordele, Georgia... Cody got 2 hours of practice on the track (which Tom said was a 'fine facility')...There are 41 cars there, and Cody was 21st-fastest out of the field..Cody ran a fast lap of 16.780, Rookie David Wilson ran the fast time at 16.472.. The extended distance 125-lap Feature highlights the weekend at the fast 0.4/mile Semi-Banked Paved Oval as joining the ASALMS Southern Division will be the tracks regular divisions of Bandoleros, Mini Stocks, Legends, Pure Stocks, and Claimers for an action packed weekend in the Peach State. Saturday is race day and it all begins at 9:30 a.m. with Remaining Rig Parking as well as Registration and the Pit Gates all opening up as well. The ASALMS Practice and Safety Tech open up at 10:30am while the ASALMS Drivers Meeting and Qualifying Draw will go at 11:00am. The ASALMS Crew Chiefs Meeting will follow at 11:20am and finally the Spotters Meeting will begin at 11:30am. The ASALMS Southern Division will get 120 Minutes of continuous Practice beginning at 12:30pm with a Five minute break at the halfway marker. Quote
