Promotions Wimberley, Texas (04/26/2007): Trey Mitchell is very excited about the prospects of the 2007 Racing Season. For the 2007 season, the 17-year-old will also make select appearances in the ASA Late Model Series Southern Division beginning on Saturday June 2, 2007 at the South Georgia (GA) Motorsports Park in Cecil, Georgia for the South Georgia 100. In addition, Mitchell will run full-time at the Houston (TX) Motorsports Park with hopes of capturing the Pro Modified Series Championship. Plus later in the year, the last quarter of the season will require commutes from Charlotte, North Carolina where he will be a freshman Motorsports Engineering student at the University of North Carolina. “I’m very excited to make the next step in my racing career, we feel that the ASALMS Southern Division is a good venue for myself and my team to compete with some of the best late model teams in the country.” Stated Mitchell as his team continued to prepare for their 2007 ASALMS debut as well as keep running their open wheeled Modified as often as possible. The next event for the Trey Mitchell Racing Team is back at Houston in the Modified on Saturday May 5, 2007. “We’re working very hard to have our car ready for the June race at South Georgia Motorsports Park. We hope to gain some seat time while running competitively. All the tracks on the schedule are brand new to me but I feel that we can adjust to that.” Continued the Wimberley, Texas driver. “We have at least five races planned with the ASALMS this season along with a possible race at the Snowflake 100 during the Snowball Derby weekend.” During the 2006 season, Mitchell made one start in the ASA Late Model Series Southern Division, where he ran very well but was involved in an accident after working his way up to Sixth. Mitchell finished 14th in his ASALMS debut. Also during the year Mitchell ran with the USRA Modified Series. Near midpoint of the racing season the TMR team began to experience more consistent Top Five finishes and grabbed Rookie of the Year honors in the USRA Modified Series and won a race at the San Antonio (TX) Speedway. Mitchell’s Racing Career began at 14 years old. His first step was the Allison Legacy Series late in the 2004 season. He showed tremendous talent after only a very short time and a few struggles, setting the track record at Red River (TX) Speedway for fastest qualifying time and earning Most Improved Driver for the 2004 season. In the 2005 season, his first full season, he earned Lone Star Legacy Rookie of the Year Honors and finished the season third in points. The Houston, Texas pilot is actively seeking sponsorship on the side of both Trey Mitchell Racing machines.
