NickHolt Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) Late Models Fast Facts (Austin, TX) – The following are some facts and figures about the Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) Late Models, which will run the Insty Prints 75 this Saturday (April 28) at Thunder Hill Raceway (Kyle, TX): TSRS total starts: 45 (Saturday’s Insty Prints 75 race will be #46) TSRS starts at Thunder Hill Raceway: 16 (Saturday’s Insty Prints 75 race will be #17) TSRS Qualifying Record at Thunder Hill Raceway: According to records, Brad Hudak turned a lap of 15.453 during qualifying on April 9, 2005 at THR Nothing ‘New’ about winning: Bobby Joe New (Buda) carries a 3-race win streak into Saturday’s Insty Prints 75 at THR. New has won the last three series races: Oct. 21, 2006 at Houston Motorsports Park; Oct. 28 (Texas Stock Car Spectacular) at THR; and this year’s season-opening TSRS race, March 31 at THR. They go very fast: Chris Schild (Leander) has won 5 Fastest Qualifier awards, most of any TSRS driver at THR; Schild is expected to start Saturday’s Insty Prints 75 race. Other TSRS Fast Qualifiers at THR include Cody Smith (3), Brad Hudak (2), Bobby Joe New (2), Jeff Pollard (2), Tommy Gural (1) and Kyle Sirizzotti (1). Pollard won the first-ever Fast Qualifier award at THR on April 5, 2003 via heat races staged that day. Rookie Chase: There are four candidates for the K-MAC Sports Rookie of the Year award so far in 2007: Bobby Teer, Jr. (Comfort) is 4th in overall points with 160; Gary Chancellor, Jr. (Bastrop) is 10th with 139 points; Brian Mcozygemba is 14th with 121 points; and, Jason Hollander (Leander) is 19th with 79 points. TSRS notes about Thunder Hill Raceway: Tommy Gural (Elgin, TX) owns 7 career TSRS victories, most at THR…Bobby Joe New has won the last 2 TSRS races at THR - Oct. 28, 2006 and March 31, 2007; New has three wins overall at THR, his other one coming on April 15, 2006…There was 1 non-points TSRS race at THR, that being Sept. 25, 2004 (the Texas Stock Car Spectacular race was won by Tommy Gural).
