Truck99
Let's not let 'em die yet. I hope it's nothing more than a low point. I'd sure hate to see the truck series go by the wayside.

Crazyhorse
there is too much uncertainty........nobody will invest their time and money into a series that looks like it has not got a stable future. one lady ......oppp i meant person could really bring this thing back though , think.. but more tracks are needed 1st , and support from a local basis are needed for those tracks 1st and foremost before anybody can hope to have what this series use to be......you don't have a touring series without a 'local' track , or you could just pull the lexan out and race it in a field. j/k rusty. the tracks need the support. the touring series are proof of that , it's kinda like a cancer , the trucks ,mods and super lates are just what had to be removed, for now. Didnt you mean to say "you dont have a touring series without the local tracks cooperation" By the way Its a blast racing in a field, You should try it
Txenergy
How many trucks are in the series? Why didn't more show up,,, is it because people needs a sponsor?
Truck99
How many trucks are in the series? Why didn't more show up,,, is it because people needs a sponsor? The problem is much deeper than that. I think Crazyhorse had it pretty correct. Too much uncertainty for the series, not a clear cut leader at the top, not enough tracks for a touring series. Who knows what else. Hopefully time will heal the wounds. There are a lot of trucks sitting idle.

C_Malin
How many trucks are in the series? Why didn't more show up,,, is it because people needs a sponsor? Well in 05 when we first started there was about 27 or so trucks. about half way through 05 they started dropping off one by one in o6 we averaged about 12 per race. I think some of the reasons for the low counts were, gas prices went through the roof, purses did not come close to covering the cost of racing unless you won, and some were told they were just not needed, and few rule changes might have been a factor. Brad
Guess if a bunch of the drivers wanted a local class, like was said on here last week, instead of a series they would have been at HMP right? Maybe more will show a THR.

REBELRACER
not too long ago it was said that the problem with the low counts at the local tracks was the fact that there were too many touring series........well now we are left with only 2 touring series, the support for the local classes should increase..........well at least that is what the thought was on that thread a while back........i guess we will see if that was true or not......... junior
We will race on asphalt any where there is rules that are adhered to by an unbiased technical inspector and they pay reasonable purse. The one thing that USRA was consistant about was their payout. Junior
REBELRACER
Maybe if we could scale down the size of our trucks it would make for a better touring series? I dont get it. there is nothing to get..........last year or there abouts, people were saying that the reason that the tracks had low car counts was because of the fact that there were too many touring series.........at the time there were pro sedans, tsrs, mods, trucks, slm..........then there was talk a little while about a touring series for the hobby stock type cars..........some complained that if there wasnt so many touring series, then the people who run with the touring series, would race the local classes and would improve the car counts and there by increase fan count yada, yada, yada............i like the touring series, so i hate the fact that most of them are gone............anyway, what i was saying that the people who were complaining in a way got their wish and now there are only 2 touring series the pro sedans and tsrs..........now we will see if the idea of less touring series will help the local class car counts........... i know it was a smart a$$ sarcastic joke about scaling down the truck, that was a good one.........i would like to see the trucks start a dirt truck series like they talked about though...........that would be cool..........and rusty already proved that the interest is there and they can definitely compete on dirt..............jmo
C_Malin
I agree 100% dirt rocks. but I am bias about dirt cause my first job was at a dirt track and I have a dirt car. The thing about asphalt these days is that if your not 16 you wont get a chance to advance to that life long dream of racing Nascar. On dirt you can advance to the highest level with out being a millionair. When was the last time you saw a $50,000 to win asphalt race?
REBELRACER
i love watching the races on the dirt tracks.........i grew up around asphalt tracks, but i love any kind of racing.........nascar is getting a little boring to me, so i may have to start going to the dirt tracks to watch their shows.........hell tri-city isnt too far from la vernia..........may have to go check them out..........
