BETTER LUCK IN HOUSTON FOR WALKER RACING

Houston, TX (April 20, 2007)- Walker Racing seems to be having better luck in the Lone Star State this weekend. Wrapping up the long race haul, the team has entered the weekend ready to show everyone they have what it takes.

Swiss rookie Simona De Silvestro proved that she is getting better and better. The 18 year-old clocked a fast lap time of 1:06.784 (90.722 mph) putting her P11 in today’s provisional qualifying session.

As for her teammate, Brit Ryan Lewis, he had a little more difficulty. Adjusting to the car and the new changes made to the track, the 22 year-old tapped the wall cutting time out of the session. Lewis earned a time of 1:07.204 (90.155 mph) landing in him in P20.

Stay tuned as the team hits the Reliant Park circuit for tomorrow’s practice session which begins at 8:45 a.m. CT. For more updates on the team please visit www.walkerracing.com <http://www.walkerracing.com/> .

What they had to say….

Simona De Silvestro: “We’re getting better and better. In this session I was unable to get a run on new tires, so my lap time is on the old tires, but overall I’m pretty happy. There are still some things we need to work on, but the guys have worked really hard and I think for tomorrow we will be fine. We are moving in the right direction.” I

Ryan Lewis:“It was an okay session, but unfortunately I didn’t drive to standard. I made a mistake and tapped the wall which took a lot of time out and I made a lot of silly mistakes. The team has done a great job and the responsibility lies with me. Hopefully tomorrow I can bring the guys a good result.”

Derrick Walker, owner Walker Racing: “Simona’s car is really working well and I’m convinced that she easily has a top five car. I think if that had been a complete session, I was expecting on new tires she would have been in the top five, so big improvement there. It’s really good to start the weekend that way. Ryan on the other hand, I don’t think we found what he needs yet for here. He seems to be struggling a little bit with the car, but from what we have learned from Simona’s car we can look at applying that to help Ryan.”
