lenny66 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 NICK HOLT, I HAVE A QUESTION AND I AM WONDERING IF YOU MAY HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME??? CAN SAS BE RENTED OUT FOR PRACTICE OR JUST SO I CAN GET SOME MORE TIME ON THE CAR??? OR IS IT A DONE DEAD DEAL??? I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO RUN AROUND THE TRACK ONE MORE TIME AND GIVE MY CAR OWNER A CHANCE TO SEE WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO DRIVE A RACE CAR. WE HAVE ALOT OF EXPENSE TIED UP IN THE CAR AND WE JUST WOULD LIKE TO TURN SOME LAPS. IS THIS A FAR-FETCHED IDEA OR A POSSIBILITY??? THANX LENNY66 Quote
NickHolt Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Rick Day, Debbie Williams and myself are no longer in a position to legitimately answer your question since we are no longer involved with the management of SAS or USRA. You would have to talk to the lease holder, Ted Carlson. I understand that Mr Carlson is very difficult to reach these days and I personally have no contact information for him. Nick Holt Quote

bigfat Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Who owns the locks that are on the gates and how good is Ted's hearing? Quote
NickHolt Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Not sure about the locks, but Lillian Reeh (land owner) lives right next door, just north of the track. And I think her hearing is pretty darn good. Don't worry about Ted though, he lives outside Bexar County. The way I figure it, if someone was desperate enough, they could get up to about 90 MPH in the parking lot outside turn 3 and use the dirt banking at turn 3 as a launching ramp to clear the retaining wall. If they were going fast enough they could easily clear the inside pit wall and land in the soft mud in the infield. Just be careful not to have your tongue sticking out when you land. Nick Quote
NickHolt Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Getting out would be the real trick. Naw.. Lotsa cars have been launched outta there over the years. LOL Nick Quote
