gundogC3 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Can anyone explain why he got in the 5 car, after he ran over him???? Quote
thumper Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Jr wanted to see if the car had brakes. He is a class act not to get mad or point fingers. Quote
97car Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 The driver of the 5 thought he was done for the day and left the track,so they was looking around for someone to finish the race.(Maybe future replacement) Quote

Budman Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Maybe he just did it to make KB look bad. Hard for me to imagine why a driver would leave the track before the race is over if there is a chance they could get it back out on the track. Maybe that's what the car owner was thinking too. Quote
44SS Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 The article on the nascar website said busch told his crew that they were done, so he left. While his crew went to work on the car to get it back out, and with JR they gained one spot and three points. The gasman on the 5 team is friends with JR and when they couldnt find poor kb he asked JR to fill in. Just another fine charactor trait of kb illustrated here, any other driver would atleast stayed to see if the crew could fix it or even be helping fix it themselves. He did the same thing at the Snowball Derby a few years ago, was in a top notch car caused a wreck and walked off so that others could clean up his mess that of course wasnt his fault. Â Its ashame that a talanted, class act, short track driver can not make it to cup and actually have a chance to show the appreciation for the chance they got and be an ambassador for the sport. But more and more we get these spoiled, entitled attituded punks that buy their way into a seat, we are expected to watch them crash people out of their way and be told "thats just good hard racing". Â Ill get of the soap box now. Quote
Definitive Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Buy their way in?....can you elaberate?...interesting. Quote
44SS Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 "buy their way in", not saying the guy cant drive, but isnt yet a good driver. There are alot of guys in the upper levels that are there because they had big family money backing them, and when a seat opened up they could bring money to the table. Where as a driver that has faster lap times, has a race shop in his/her two car garage, has more talent, and just needs a chance, will not get the ride because they dont have any money to bring to the deal. Truck99 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 I didn't used to be much of a Dale Jr fan, but every time I hear the guy talk after a race, especially when things don't go his way, I become more of a fan. He's good for the sport without a doubt. Better Jr. than KB to finish the race in that car any day. I think it's hilarous. Image the heat KB must have taken when he showed up to work the next day, or whenver he shows up for work. Quote
thumper Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 The Shrub drives like a "Foreigner". Quote
PAPA Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Ive always been a #5 fan because of Terry. When KB took over the ride I still pulled for the #5 team. Still do. BUT....Even though KB is a good driver, he is still a little kid. I think it would be GREAT if Jr told DEI to take a hike and jump in the#5 car. I really dont see that happening but wouldnt that be GREAT? Quote
Waco Racer Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 (edited) I was wondering if the #5 has the new Chevy engine and the #8 doesn't yet. Maybe Chevrolet wanted to get Jr.'s opinion of the engine in race conditions Edited April 16, 2007 by Waco Racer Quote
PAPA Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 #3 would be cool but I dont think we will ever see the #3 on the track ever again. Quote
