Tom Taylor (txtom) is going to shoot my butt for this - I'm sure he doesn't want anyone to know.. but...

Tom had some surgery done at Brook Army Medical Center early today to remove a golf-ball size tumor from his hip area. The pre-op biopsy showed some abnormal cells in it so they decided to take it out.

Tom just got home from BAMC and reports that they were successful in removing all traces of the tumor. Of course, they still have to perform a post-op biopsy the tissue, but he does not anticipate any chemo, etc. Says he's very sore but quite relieved that apparently he "got lucky."

Since he won't be able to make tonight's meeting in Cibolo, he's asking those of us who do go to be sure and report what happened here on TXSZ.

Get well soon, Tom, and let's not be growing any more golf ball-sized tumors, OK? In the meantime we'll be praying about this..

Alright ya'll, I'm back...............

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. Everything went well, they got out what they needed to; didn't have to take anything extra. They did not have to cut a lot of muscle, so healing will go much quicker.

Talk about getting things moving, we got there about 7:15, and was home by 12:30.

Boy, do those percosets help ya sleep or what?! ;)

Buddy, you need to PM Brad and ask him the story behind the crayons and coloring books. Ask him just how red his cheeks get when he gets embarassed.. :D

Chase, I still have the pain in my butt........but with his new job, maybe he'll move back out in a few months. Damn boomerang kids.....

And no, the tile ain't done yet, Krusty Rusty; if you would spend less time sitting around in Bluebonnet fields and come over and help, I'd have that project done... :P

I actually feel pretty good this morning, and will be back at work Monday. Like Nick stated, still got a biopsy result to wait for, but they did not see anything to worry about.

But I plan to be in Houston the 21st. Normal txtom B.S. level will be in effect by then......

Now for something serious (kinda unusual for me, but..)

I got lucky. A few more months, and I'd be looking at a whole different treatment level. Next time any of you feel a funny bump or lump or anything like that, get it checked. NOW. The sooner you get it checked, the less chance that it will be or become something serious.

Thanks again to all for your support,

Tom

Very good news on your situation, you speak well when telling others to get checked,i recently went thru the "dreaded" prostate check. Starving you for 2 days before going under was the worst of it,the procedure was a piece of cake and i was home weed wacking the yard the same day. So to help make a point,GET CHECKED OUT GUYS!
