debwill
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Paige Miller 512.589.6052 Paige_miller@hotmail.com Casey Smith Announces 2007 Race Schedule (AUSTIN, TX) February 16, 2007 Twenty-One year old Casey Smith is looking forward to his 17th consecutive season of racing. The driver who has been said to “own” the #99 in Super Late Model racing is focusing this season on the competition in the southeast. “The racing in Texas seems to be mostly crate motor races, and we aren’t a big supporter of crate motors because there are just too many gray areas. Super Late Model racing is where true racing is, with the horsepower and light-weight cars, it takes a real driver to drive them. We are going to concentrate ultimately on the Snowball Derby, running all of the Blizzard Series events to lead to the Snowball.” Casey has penciled in all five of the Blizzard Series races which come on Friday nights, that are scheduled on the same weekends as the Saturday night Miller Lite Racing Series at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama. “Mobile is a fun track to race, so we will run all of those and pick and choose the other races. I’m excited to go to Opp, [Alabama] and run some races over there too.” Casey also has his eye on a couple of races in the PASS South Super Late Model Series at Lanier Speedway in Georgia and Hickory Speedway in North Carolina. Casey’s last two races at Lanier were podium finishes in the American Speed Association’s National Tour. And as he does each and every year, he will look forward to ending the season at the “All American 400” and the “Snowball Derby”. After a successful 2006 season, including 2 wins and eleven top-tens in seventeen starts, Casey Smith and the #99 team look forward to another successful season.” “I’d like to get a few wins like we did last year and be a little more consistent. Last year we were fast everywhere we went, but we had things go wrong. We now have two cars that are basically brand new to start off the season. I expect to win a few races and be competitive everywhere we go.” Casey has taken the new car out to Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, Texas a couple of times in the off-season and is preparing for his first event at “The Rattler” at South Alabama Speedway in Opp, Alabama on March 4th.
