Starting with the big 2nd Annual Alamo 200 ASA LMS Challenge Series season opener on March 3, students presenting a valid school ID can purchase a grandstand ticket at the Senior/Military discount rate. This new discount is valid for students 13-years-old and older, including college students. Younger students (less than 13-years-old) will be admitted at the normal children's rate. "We've received several requests for a price break on the admission costs for teenagers and college students," explained Rick Day, San Antonio Speedway's President and General Manager. "We know we have lots of families who regularly attend the races, and we want to make it a bit more affordable for them to join us on Saturday nights." San Antonio Speedway Late Model Driver Mike Reininger was excited to hear about the change. "I think this new discount is fantastic," commented Reininger. "I have two daughters - Michelle who's 16 and Kelly who's 14 - so this discount will really make a difference. I think parents will be more likely to bring their kids to the track rather than leaving them at home or choosing to do something else on a Saturday night." Families can also take advantage of a free child’s admission (ages 7-12) by picking up a "Kids Free" coupon at any Express Lube location in San Antonio. These coupons offer a free child's admission with the purchase of an adult admission ticket. In addition, children six and under are always admitted to San Antonio Speedway at no charge. The season opener on March 3 will be highlighted by the 2nd Annual Alamo 200 ASA Late Model Series (ASA LMS) Challenge race, along with the Texas Pro Sedans and the SAS Sportsman and Road Runner classes. The grandstand gates open at 4:00 p.m. for the Alamo 200, and fans will be given the opportunity to meet the ASA LMS drivers during an autograph session that begins at 5:45 p.m. The racing action gets started promptly at 7:00 p.m. San Antonio Speedway is located at 14901 State Highway 16 South towards Poteet, just 3.5 miles outside Loop 410 and inside Loop 1604. Admission for the March 3 race is $25 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, military and spouse and students (with ID), and $5 for children 7-12. Children 6 and under are admitted free. -30-
