Prep work for the 2007 Racing Season is Open Throttle at Texana Raceway Park!

The countdown has begun toward the exciting 2007 racing season at Texana Raceway Park in Edna, Texas. While fans work on their off season chores and drivers prepare their 2007 rides, the staff at Texana Raceway Park have been in the background working on their chores preparing for the upcoming racing season.

Progressively through the 2005 and 2006 seasons, the number of competitors along with the fan count rose. To cap off the 2006 season a final special event with a large payout, billed as “The Fall Finale”, was put together for the popular Bomber Division, the closely competitive Sport Modifieds, and the incredibly fast and fan pleasing Modifieds. Track owners Bruce and Donna Tesch desired to put together the Fall Finale as a way to say thank you to the fans and drivers for their hard work and support of the track during the 2006 season.

Finishing 2006 with a bang, the Tesch’s quickly placed their sights toward the 2007 season, and initiated several off season projects. First, the already outstanding concession center has been completely rebuilt. The center will offer the many of the delicious favorites everyone has come to expect and provide improved working space for the staff. Also, the entire front straight away fencing has been replaced, which provides added safety for both fans and drivers. “We want to continue to build on our past success and our commitment to providing quality entertainment at a reasonable price, with high quality facilities for all of our customers.” stated Bruce Tesch.

If that wasn’t enough, work is underway to further improve the competitors pit parking area with increased parking space. While the physical changes are underway at the track, the presence on the internet, www.texanaracewaypark.org, has been enhanced. The revamped web site offers several user friendly features, including space on the front page for updates with important information and special events info., a fan info section, driver’s area, and hall of fame to review past champions. The 2007 race schedule is also posted. Tesch said “While we focus on enhancements to the physical property each year, we felt the need to also update our services to the drivers and fans through the web site. We believe the site will provide us with a tool to keep folks updated on important information and a way for us to post special event information and other items of interest”.

Don’t miss the exciting season opener on March 31st. General admission prices will be $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens, $6 for children 6-12, and under six are free. The track is located two miles east of Edna on SH 111. Be sure and come out for the season opener and enjoy America’s fastest sport.
