(Jan. 19) – Sponsorship from Sunoco Race Fuels will figure prominently this season in three IMCA divisions and at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals. Manufacturer of the official racing fuel of IMCA, Sunoco returns as title sponsor of the Late Model, Stock Car and Hobby Stock divisions, as well as the Stock Car Race of Champions at Super Nationals. Portions of national point funds for the three divisions, and the purse for the Race of Champions, will be paid by Sunoco. “Sunoco has supported our organization and our sanctioned race tracks for a number of years, and that support hasn’t gone unnoticed,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “Their contribution to national point funds for these three divisions displays their dedication to weekly IMCA racing across the country.” Sunoco expanded its program with IMCA to include Hobby Stocks last season. Added to the Super Nationals program in 2001, qualifying for the Race of Champions is open to track champions or current point leaders, previous national champions, Super Nationals champions and RoC winners in attendance at Boone Speedway. “We have yet to see a repeat winner of the Sunoco Race of Champions,” Yoder said. “The caliber of competition has made this one of the most popular races during the week of Super Nationals.” Drivers in all three divisions are again required to display two Sunoco decals on their race car and compete with Sunoco race gas.
