Inaugural ASCS Coastal Region Schedule Unveiled

TULSA, Okla. (January 16, 2007) – The all-new American Sprint Car Series Coastal Region brings the best in Sprint Car racing to Mississippi and the surrounding areas with an ambitious inaugural slate of 21 point events.

While a dozen events will be contested within the state of Mississippi, the series will also make three stops at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, and a pair of stops at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

The ASCS Coastal Region will also take on the ASCS Gulf South Region on four occasions, with a June 22-23 weekend at the Motorama Speedway and Houston Raceway Park speedplants in Texas. The other two challenge events include a September 15 showdown at Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham and an October 6 event at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS.

The series other Louisiana stop of 2007 is at Baton Rouge Raceway on July 20.

Seven different tracks in Mississippi will host the series in 2007, including South Mississippi Speedway (Long Beach), Southern Speedway (Hattiesburg), Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus), Pike County Speedway (Magnolia), Simpson County Motorsports Park (Mendenhall), Swinging Bridge Raceway (Byram) and Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian).

The series fires off on February 10 at Loxley, Alabama's Deep South Speedway in a showdown with the new ASCS Rebel Region. The $2,000 to win event will be the first event for both new ASCS Regions.

The inaugural ASCS Coastal Region champion will be crowned in the series season finale with the Gulf South Region at Pike County Speedway on October 6.

Along with each of the other eleven ASCS Regions and the ASCS National Tour, two representatives from the ASCS Coastal Region will be invited to compete in the Race for a Wesmar Engine at Devil's Bowl Speedway's Winter Nationals in Mesquite, TX, on October 13.
