But with the recent winter blast, and a forcast of more cold weather this weekend Pat Wilson, promoter of Texas Thunder Speedway, has decided to postpone the first playday scheduled for this coming Saturday, Jan 20th. "I just don't see any reason to even try to do anything at the track this weekend," said Wilson. "All the numbers and registration will be done at the next earliest date, which, weather permitting, will be Saturday, Jan 27th." Next weeks playday will not only give those of you that have completed your 2007 cars a chance to test and tune on the high banked 1/4 track, but also let you discuss your car with the tracks technical inspectors. For those who are still working on their new racers, it will give you a chance to register your car and reserve your number and pit space. Also, next week, Racing 101 will be offered for any driver wishing to learn more about how the races at Texas Thunder Speedway are conducted. Items covered in the class include, where to line up, what the flags mean, who is the right official to approch with a particular problem, and so on. The cost of the class is free. Opening night of racing will be March 10th and continue every Saturday night through September 29th. Gates open at 6:00 PM and racing starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $3 for kids 6-12 and kids under 6 are free. Season passes are available as well. New for fans this year is the ability to purchase their tickets online with a credit card. Just go to the Texas Thunder Speedway web site, and click on the “Buy and Print Tickets” button. Also you can use your Visa or Master Card in the tracks souvenir and concession stands.
