NickHolt Posted December 7, 2006 Report Share Posted December 7, 2006 For Immediate Release 2006 Lone Star Quarter Midget Club Champions Awarded by Amy Hogan San Antonio, TX (December6, 2006) - On November 18, 2006 Lone Star Quarter Midget Club had their year end awards banquet naming the club champions for 2006 as well as handing out two Sportsmen of the year awards and Texas Shoot Out Champion Awards. Lone Star Quarter Midgets Association has been in existence for 47 years and race at a 1/20th track in Comanche Park in San Antonio, Texas. Kids ages 5-16 compete against each other in quarter scale midgets. The kids compete is several different classes depending on age and engine size. In addition, the kids of Lone Star Quarter Midget Association race against their sister club in Austin, River City Quarter Midgets, in the Texas Shootout Series. The 2006 Champions were recognized for their efforts at the annual awards banquet held at Austin Park and Play. The Lone Star Quarter Midget Associations Champions for 2006 are: Junior Novice Champion - Dillon Bellino Junior Honda Club Champion and Junior Honda Texas Shootout Champion - Cody Stacy Senior Honda Club Champion, Senior Honda Texas Shootout Champion and Region 6 Quarter Midgets of America Senior Honda Champion - Hunter Montgomery Light 160 Club Champion and Light 160 Texas Shootout Champion - Michael Hernandez Heavy 160 Club Champion - Wyatt Dallenbach Not only were the Champions honored at the awards banquet, all club members were honored and received trophies for their finishing position in the points standing by class. In addition, the Club handed out two Sportsmen of the year awards. The two recipients of the Sportsmen of the year awards were Kaitlyn Hogan who raced Senior Honda and Heavy 160 and Tate Gregory who raced Junior Novice and Junior Honda. The Sportsmen of the Year Award is a great honor due to the fact that the kids vote for who they who feel epitomizes a good sportsmen at all times. It is truly an award decided on by the kids for the kids.
