Colt James is a Shining Star in the Lone Star State

Troutman, North Carolina (10/18/06) – Texas native Colt James is a shining star in a state know for having Lone Stars.

This weekend’s race at San Antonio Speedway (SAS) has a style that James is used to. The format is twin 75 lap feature races. The first race is for money as well as the final points event for the ASA Late Model Series Southern Division Champion. The second race is for money and bragging rights. To close out the 2005 racing season, James won twin feature races at SAS in the USRA Race Truck Series.

James has received a great deal of special attention as an early favorite to win the event. Racing in his home state at a track he has had success on, Colt has been tabbed by many to be a contender.

Colt commented on the extra attention this week. “I’m not putting any more pressure on myself this week than I do any other week. All this extra attention is great, but I still want to run well for my sponsors this week. Magnum Trailers and Fuccella-Smith Electric are big supporters and I want to do the best I can representing them this weekend.”

“The only change that I’ll have this weekend is having al my friends and family at the race”, stated James. “It will be different racing at a track that I have experience on and race fans that know who I am.”

As always, Colt gives due credit to his family and friends that give some much of their time to help him race. His biggest supporters this season has been his mom, dad, and his new wife Elisha. Jason Harvell and David Umscheid have helped out this season as well.

The added bonus of winning both races would go along way on building for the start of the 2007 racing season.
