Why is this so surprising? The SAS late models are not that far removed from the ASA cars.If you take all of the extra weight out of Barker's car in the last USRA race,he doesn't get the move over flag or get run over.

Just more negative sarcasm from the other racers.

Build it up,don't keep tearing it down.

The SAS late model guys that enter the race will have alot of us fans cheering them on.

Go race and have fun at it.

that'll make ASA wanna come back next year? we turn an ASA race into an outlaw race?

positive note- it's ASA tech , good luck with the templates.

And the negativity runs amuck.According to what was posted,Rick Day sent our Late Model rules off to the ASA people. It looks like there were a few allowances for our guys in order to speed their cars up.Joe and Robert only need .6 on the clock.Joe ran an 18.81 in qualifying earlier in the year.I would worry more about the USRA guys giving them fits than the NASCAR guys.Grimes has a new car for the race.Bendele and G.Davidson were fast in practice.

The move just made the race more interesting, not to mention qualifying.

Constant opinions against the same tracks, series and officials are counter productive. Why wouldnt you give them credit when credit is due. They are trying to help the car count for ASA and the fans. Thanks Rick Day for your efforts.

Why would you want to support any ideas that give the series a little local flavor?

I'm not against letting the "locals" run with the ASA guys except this ,if I understood right,is a championship race for the ASA guys. The ASA guys know each other and their tendancies but don't know what most of the local's are .After all it was a "local" who caused the wreck that took out the guy who took the challenge of giving up his front row spot to start from the rear to gain bonus points and dollars in the first race.I would hate to see an ASA regular lose a lot of point money over an incident with a local. That probably would not set well with ASA.

it could be a good thing for the local drivers to get a little extra exposure........but the thing that sucks is that some of the drivers built a car just to be able to race with the asa, when they could have ran a sas lm instead........oh well it is good to see the bigger races coming to the area now, good job by all involved

This deal for the offset 2-bbl car running with the ASA South regulars is NOT something new. It was an option in the ASA South rules (but not the ASA Challenge rules) from the very start of the season. ASA did it to allow more cars from Georgia and Florida to run in the ASA South events (e.g. Pensacola), and then hopefully make the full transition to ASA racing in 2007. This 2-bbl rule option goes away after the 2006 ASA South season.

This is not something that was done specially for this San Antonio race.

I thought this is racing! It wasn't the locals fault, it was the 11 car that actually runs the series , he got loose while JC and Landon were going at it . It kind of looked that way, but JC cut down instead of running over this guy over and Cassill went high. When the 11 realized JC was on the inside he bobbled again and ran Cassill up the track. What about when the 74 took out Brandon?

Pacecar you are right remember them having the the rules set like that, just for the the South Series.

Heres the way i see it. Crazy is going to complain, seems to never fail when something is said or someone states an opinion, and im willing to bet arob wasnt at the race or wasnt watching the action that he is refering to, he is just stating what the other side said on the PA that TD stuck in the kids face. And since im just a local that took a ASA Hot shoe out i feel like i can respond to this thread.

Thanks and have a great day!!!!
