The white flag flew last week on the 2006 racing season, at the Premiere Racing Facility in Central Texas, Texas Thunder Speedway. But as we round turn four to a waving checkered flag, more thrills are in the works.

Although Gary White has the Budweiser Racing Texas Twister Championship locked up, he will face an unprecedented challenge ahead of him Saturday night.

White and his team will have to build, then race, a complete Budweiser Racing Texas Twister, in just two hours. That's right. Two hours to go from road to race. Luckily, Budweiser Racing Texas Twisters are cars that race, not race cars.

With the effort in full view of the fans in the grand stands, White and his team will start building the car at 7:30 PM. His feature race should be on the track by 9:30. That gives them just about two hours to complete the car and take their position on the grid.

Can he make it in time? Will he get to race? Either way, White will be the champion, but this will be a test unlike any other that any driver has face before. Will any one put up $500 to claim the car after the race?

Only way to know, is to come on out and witness it yourself. Also on tap are the other six classes of cars, including the last ever feature race for the Cottman Transmissions Mini Stocks.

Gates open at 6:00 PM and racing starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $3 for kids 6-12 and kids under 6 are free. Season passes are available as well.

New for fans this year is the ability to purchase their tickets online with a credit card. Just go to the Texas Thunder Speedway web site, and click on the “Buy and Print Tickets” button. Also you can use your Visa or Master Card in the tracks souvenir and concession stands.

For the record,

One hour and fifty-five minutes. Six guys working in the infield with limited tools put together a Budweiser Racing Tecas Twister that passed techincal inspection and raced that night.

How long would it take you????

You have all winter to get one built.

See ya next year.
