Carson Cruises at HOT

ELM MOTT—Shane Carson from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was the fastest of the fast Sprint Series of Texas racers Sunday night at the Heart O' Texas Speedway. Carson took the checkered flag ahead of Jerry Hammock of Waxahachie and Jay Smith of San Angelo.

Tom Hutchinson from Kennedale won the Brazos Mini Sprint feature race followed by Rodney Cogburn from Pflugerville and Tim Sandelovic from Hutto.

Mark Geurin from Whitney added another win to his record in the street stock feature. Ed Thompson from Waco and Shawn Mize from Crowley were second and third.

The pure stock feature win went to Wade White form Waco. Point leader, David Sawyer from Axtell, finished second, and Jeff Williams from Waco took third.

Michael Haisler from Elm Mott padded his cruiser point lead with one more feature win for the year. Jeff Willis from West came in second, and Kenneth Dean from Elm Mott ran third.

Top three in the junior mini stock class after several disqualifications were Corbin Taylor from Waco, Brent Mize from Crowley, and Leon Alvarado from Riesel.

No races are scheduled for Friday, September 8, due to the I.M.C.A. National races in Boone, Iowa. Racing will resume on Friday, September 15, with the much anticipated return of the ASCS sprints along with a regular race program for all four I.M.C.A. classes and features only for street stock, pure stock, cruisers, and junior mini stocks. For more information, check our website at www.heartotexspeedway.com
