Thunder Hill Raceway ready for ‘KTSA Night at the Races’

Kyle, TX (August 29, 2006) - The regular season comes to a close Saturday night at Thunder Hill Raceway (THR) – and the track has a media partner to celebrate.

KTSA-AM radio (San Antonio) will join the drivers, crews, families and fans this Saturday (Sept. 2) at the 3/8-mile paved oval in Kyle as the Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) Late Models run the 550-KTSA 75, the A-Line Auto Parts Street Stocks run the A-Line Auto Parts 50 and the great folks at A-Line Auto Parts/Arnold Oil Company of Austin will present a fan favorite – the A-Line Auto Parts Demolition Derby.

Racing starts at 7 p.m. with the Demo Derby to follow. The purse is expected to climb up to $1,500 for the winner with only a $50 entry fee. For more information on the Derby, folks can call 512.393-9471 and 512.262.1352. The rules are posted at the track’s web site, www.thunderhillraceway.com.

A-Line Auto Parts and THR will combine to host the Big Brothers, Big Sisters visitors at the track that night.

Fans attending the exciting night will also see great racing action from the Texas Pro Sedans, the THR Hobby Stocks, THR Grand Stocks, Lonestar Legacys and the NASKARTS. The JRA Kids Club will host its fan favorite – the Kids Bike Races – during intermission and will give one lucky JRA Kids Club member a ride in a limousine provided by the fine folks at Racing Limos of Austin and All Tranz Transmission Repair of Austin.

K-MAC Sports Productions will interview the top three finishers in the A-Line Auto Parts Street Stocks 50 on during its online broadcast of the race. “We will run the NASKARTS races between the Street Stocks race and the 550-KTSA 75 so the Street Stocks drivers can get some time during the broadcast,” said THR co-owner Mary Ann Naumann. “We know a lot of people who come to see the races live like to hear the replay of the broadcast on the web site, www.kmacsports.com, so it’s only appropriate to give the Street Stocks drivers their due.”

Admission for this Saturday’s racing action is just $18 for adults, $7 for children ages 6-12; kids under 6 years old get in free. There is a $2 discount for senior citizens, police and military personnel.

Announcements and information about Thunder Hill Raceway can be found at the track’s web site, www.thunderhillraceway.com or by calling the track’s hot line at 512.262.1352. Thunder Hill Raceway is located at Exit #210 off IH-35 North in Kyle (TX).
