Ace Hardware sponsored the terrific, as always, racing at Texas Thunder Speedway. The night was highlighted by 26 Kwik Kar Oil & Lube Street Stocks signing in to the pits. Bush's Chicken got into the act, sponsoring the Kid's Rides during intermission.

It was the youngest group of drivers getting the party started as three Kwik Kar Oil & Lube Jr Mini Stocks took to the track for their ten lap feature race. It was Colten Monroe getting the lead on the back stretch and never looking back as he cruised to his eleventh win of the year. Joseph Charnock tried to hunt Monroe down, but Monroe had figured out the tricky track just a bit better.

A B-Feature was narrowly avoided in the Kwik Kar Oil & Lube Street Stocks when heat race attrition prevented some cars from making the call for the twenty lap feature race. Twenty-four of the twenty-six cars lined up to do battle. It was pole sitter Brian Fuller getting the early lead from Gene Burnett, Scott Wilson, Ryan Anderson, and Carl Boettcher. Second place points runner, Trevor Sparkman moved into the top five, passing Boettcher on the back stretch on the first scored lap. The race would be slowed by a yellow cased by Boettcher spinning out in turn four, with Dean Silva getting involved in it. On the yellow flag, Albert Wininger Jr, who had been leading the points two weeks ago, had his string of bad luck continue, as he rolled to a stop on the front stretch with a dead engine.

The restart top five were Fuller, Burnett, Wilson, Anderson and Sparkman. On the restart, Jason Gant got the jump on both Sparkman and Anderson and drove to fourth. He would then get by Wilson on the back stretch to get to third. Tommy Kirkpatrick was moving closer to the front at the same time, getting around a fading Anderson for sixth. On lap four, Gant would go low and three wide with Sparkman and Burnett in a fight for second. They raced down the front stretch three wide and into turn two, where Gant got the second spot, with Sparkman getting third, and Burnett pushed back to fourth. Anderson continued to have trouble, spinning his ride in turn four, but was able to continue without a caution.

The same couldn't be said for Danny Dunn, who spun his car in turn three and stopped, bringing out the second yellow flag. So the lap five restart top five were Fuller still on the point followed by a racy Gant, then Sparkman, Kirkpatrick, and Burnett. On the restart, Dave Meadows would haul himself into the the top five, getting by Burnett for fifth. Gant would finish his march to the front by passing Fuller for the lead in turn four.

Sparkman would get into the runner up spot on lap seven with a move in turn four around Fuller. Kirkpatrick got around Fuller as well, before a caution again slowed the field. This time it was Cody Cooper spinning to a stop in turn four. The restart top five were Gant, Sparkman, Kirkpatrick, Fuller and Meadows. Chris Ochoa and defending champ, and current points leader Robert Simmerman were sixth and seventh.

On the drop of the green flag, Sparkman would suffer the effects of a flat tire and a bunch of cars passed him, as he had to slow and take his car to the red-yellow area for a new shoe. Meadows got around Fuller for what was now third. As the crossed flags were being displayed, Meadows dove under Kirkpatrick in turn one. The two raced door handle to door handle to the entrance of turn three, where Kirkpatrick managed to keep Meadows back in third. On lap eleven, Meadows tried the bottom of turn three in a bid to pass Kirkpatrick and was successful this time, taking over second place.

On lap twelve, Ochoa got under Fuller in turn three and the two raced hard out of turn four, but Fuller was equal to the task and beat back Ochoa's attack. On lap fourteen, Meadows caught the leader Gant in turn three and dove under him. The two raced hard side by side out of turn four and Meadows was the leader, just barely at the flag stand. Meadows would consolidate his lead going into turn one. A lap later and Kirkpatrick would get by Gant to get into second. Gant would slow on the back stretch and pulled off and out of the race. Gant's retirement from the race, plus a pass of Ochoa, put Simmerman into fourth.

Lap seventeen saw Kirkpatrick's good run end with a spin in turn one. He would not be able to continue. On the same lap, Anderson would leave the track trailing a huge cloud of smoke that necessitated a caution flag. The signal file restart order with three laps to go was Meadows, Fuller, Simmerman, a couple of lapped cars, then Ochoa and Burnett fourth and fifth. Burnett's fifth wouldn't last long, as Wilson got around him on the restart. As the whit flag waved in the breeze, Simmerman attacked Fuller on the back stretch by going low. Working the low line, Simmerman was able to get around Fuller in turn four, but he was out of time to catch Meadows, who started eighth and drove into victory lane.

Up next were fifteen Corbin & Associates, Atty's I. M. C. A. Stock Cars to do battle for fifteen laps. It was David Khoury getting the early lead from his pole position, followed by Anthony Otken, Don Lewis, and then the two rookies, Robin Rassmussen, and Ron Simpson. In turn three, Lewis dispatched Otken, moving up to second. Simpson would also get a spot, passing Rassmussen for fourth. On lap one, Benji Kirkpatrick moved into the top five by a passing Rassmussen. Kirkparitck would get another spot, getting by Simpson in turn four to take over fourth.

It would take another lap for Kirkpatrick to catch, and then pass Otken on the back stretch for third. Another lap, this one lap four, and Kirkpatrick picked off another car, this one Lewis' for second. But it wouldn't stick, as a yellow was needed to clean up a crash in turn two involving Gary Norman and Eric Jones. The restart order on lap three was Khoury, Lewis, Kirkpatrick, Otken and Simpson. On the restart, Kirkpatirck got around Lewis, making the move stick for second. On lap four Kirkpatrick completed his charge to the front from his tenth starting spot with a pass of Khoury going down the back stretch. The two bumped and rubbed, and Khoury almost spun out, giving Kirkpatrick the top spot, and seeing Khoury lose spots. The pack behind the lead battle scrambled to miss Khoury's car and positions were jumbled.

With Khoury's retirement, the top five on lap five were Kirkpatrick, Simpson, Otken, Lewis, and Shad Stevens. Khoury was back in sixth. On lap seven, Khoury was trying to work his way back to the front and went side by side with Stevens on the back stretch, but couldn't get by him. On lap eight, both Jessie James Cox Jr and Wayne Neff spun in turn four, but both would get back under way before a caution was needed. On lap ten, Norman, having recovered from his earlier troubles, got around Khoury and took over fifth on the back stretch.

On lap eleven, Stevens got went under Otken coming out of turn two and took the third spot away. On the twelfth lap, Norman tried to use the high line in turn three to get around Otken but it didn't work, and Otken stayed in third. Behind that fight, the points leader Jones spun to a stop in turn three and bringing out a solo caution. By track rules, Jones was removed from the race for the solo caution. The green, white, checkered restart top five were Kirkpatrick, Simpson, Stevens, Otken, and Norman.

On the restart, Norman went side by side with Otken in turn one. They raced that way to turn four, where both got under Stevens and they went three wide down the front stretch in a battle for third. Otken fell back on the white flag lap and Norman and Steven continued to battle for third. Norman got the spot, but Stevens battled back and as they crossed under the checkered flag, Stevens was scored third. Kirkpatrick won by three car lengths over Simpson to win his ninth race of the year.

The big, bad, Dodge Country I. M. C. A. Modifieds were up next, with eighteen of the ground pounders racing for twenty laps. It was Jason Hubbert getting the jump on J. D. Schleis, Jarrod Jennings, Pat McGuire, and Jason Hoffman. McGuire wasted no time moving forward, as he passed Jennings for third on the opening lap. McGuire was wheel to wheel with Schleis on lap one on the back stretch for second. But in front of that battle, Hubbert spun in turn four, with pole sitter Wesley Hamilton and Schleis going around as well. Remarkably, no caution was needed, and all drivers return to the race, though all lost many spots.

So on lap three, the shuffled top five were McGuire in the lead, with Hoffman in second, Jennings third, PJ Egbert in fourth and Danny Gribble rounding things out in fifth. That lap saw a yellow flag when Hardy Henderson, in his return to Modified racing, stopped in turn four. On the restart, it was rookie sensation, Andrew Simmerman pouncing on both Gribble and Jennings in turn one to get into third. But the pass didn't stick, as the veterans both got back by Simmerman in turn three. On lap five, Gribble got around Jennings to take over fourth. Simmerman would also get around Jennings, pushing Jennings to fifth. Then he got around Gribble for fourth. Meanwhile closer to the front, Egbert got around Hoffman for second.

On lap eight Egbert made a bid for the lead in turn three, diving under McGuire and racing side by side to turn four. McGuire would rebuff the challenge and hung on to the lead. As the field raced under the crossed flags, Rick Green had worked his way to sixth, as Jennings started to tumble down the order. Egbert and McGuire were locked in a battle for the lead, as Egbert pounded the low groove and McGuire had his car high, wide and handsome on the top of the track.

On lap twelve, Egbert got alongside McGuire in turn one, but McGuire's high line proved best and he retained the lead. Then on lap thirteen, Egbert went into turn one deep under Mcguire. He tried a slide job in turn two, but his car stumbled and McGuire was able to cross over and he again kept the lead. Egbert's stumble allowed Hoffman and Simmerman by, and he went from second to fourth in one corner. As the laps wound down, Kenny Stone was all over the back of Green on lap fifteen. Those two waged a terrific battle for sixth, but Green proved just a tad quicker. Just in front of that battle was Gribble, and he succumbed to Green's pressure and gave up fifth, though with a fight. On lap sixteen, Green dove low under Gribble in turn one. They raced hard wheel to wheel to turn four, where a slight bobble coming out of the last turn by Gribble let Green by for fifth. McGuire's engine, meanwhile, had developed a distinct miss, and he was popping and banging on the striaghts. That allowed Hoffman to reel him in, and as the white flag flew Hoffman had the leader in his sights. The raced hard around the track and then in turn four Hoffman pounced, diving under McGuire coming out of turn four. But McGuire had just enough momentum and won the race by a half car length over Hoffman. This was McGuire's seventh win of the year, coming from the ninth starting position.

Eight Cottman Transmissions Mini Stocks hit the track next for fifteen laps of feature racing. It was Daniel Shipler, in his dad's car, getting the early lead from his pole position. He was followed by Julie Zwiefelhofer, Eric Robbins, Travis Zwiefelhofer, and Mike Autrey. T. Zwiefelhofer went side by side with E. Robbins on the back stretch, and T. Zwiefelhofer took over third going into turn three. On the first scored lap, PJ Egbert took over fourth, first passing Autrey and then E. Robbins.

On lap two, the top four went four wide in turn one. Shipler was on the bottom and got squeezed into the utility tire marking the infield. He clouted the tire hard and rolled slowly around the track and eventually stopped against the infield barrier in turn four. J. Zwiefelhofer came out of the snarl in turn two with the lead, followed by Egbert, T. Zwiefelhofer, E. Robbins and Robert Robbins. On lap three, T. Zwiefelhofer got under Egbert on the back stretch and they raced door handle to door handle to turn four, with T. Zwiefelhofer getting that spot from Egbert, as well as getting the lead from his sister, J. Zwiefelhofer as they raced down the front stretch.

A red flag was displayed on lap five, as Shipler required medical attention. After a short delay, Shipler was able to climb from his car and waved to the crowd before taking a ride to the pits in the ambulance. the restart order on lap five was T. Zwiefelhofer in the lead, Egbert in second and then J. Zwiefelhofer, E. Robbins, and R. Robbins. Autrey and Tanner “BamBam” Reid rounded out the field. On the restart, Egbert went high coming out of turn two and went side by side with T. Zwiefelhofer for a complete lap before finally taking the top spot on lap six. R. Robbins spun in turn two, but no yellow was needed. That moved Reid to fifth, as he passed Autrey a lap earlier.

On lap eight, Reid to around E. Robbins for fourth. And a lap later and Autrey would push E. Robbins back another spot. E. Robbins' trouble would continue as he spun in turn two on lap ten, but no yellow was needed and he continued, although almost a lap down to the field.

The battle up front was settled down and Egbert was putting distance between himself and the rest of the field. On lap eleven, Autrey would start pressuring Reid for fifth. That pressure would last the final four laps, but Reid was equal to the challenge and held on to the spot. On the white flag lap, J. Zwiefelhofer spun in turn four, losing two posistions. Egbert, who started seventh, went on to win by six car length over T. Zwiefelhofer. It was his mind boggling sixteenth race win in the twenty-two races this year.

Eleven Hertz Rent A Car I. M. C. A. Southern SportMods took to the tack next for their fifteen laps of feature racing. It was Hardy Henderson with the lead on the back stretch, followed by Kevin West, Shad Stevens, Sid “The Kid” Kiphen, and Kenny Ware rounding out the top five. Trace Crawford looped his ride in turn two, but would rejoin the field with no caution needed. Lap two saw action, as Stevens dropped low on the track in turn four under West. They raced wheel to wheel to turn three, but West had a better line into the corner and held Steven off.

Lap three saw Ware go too high in turn four, losing a spot to Hoffman, who took over fifth. A lap later and Kiphen was getting around West for third. On lap six, the first yellow was brought out by Robert Carr, the former road racer, who spun in turn four. The restart order would be Henderson up front, followed by Stevens, Kiphen, West, and Hoffman. On the restart, Mondo Nevarez spun in turn three, but would not need a caution. And on the same lap, Hoffman passed West in turn two to take over fourth.

Kiphen would get into second by passing Stevens, on lap seven. Three laps later and Henderson would be under attack by Kiphen, with Kiphen trying low in turn one, but Henderson had a better run on the high side of turn two and kept the lead. Nevarez would loop his ride again, this time in turn four, and he would leave the racing surface. Again, no yellow was needed.

As the white flag fluttered in the breeze, Kiphen again dove low in turn one. This time he got a better run out of the turn and the leaders raced wheel to wheel down the back stretch. Kiphen would get into three better and as they raced off of four, Kiphen would cross the finish line a car length ahead of Henderson. It was the fifth starting Kiphen's second win in a row, and the second of the year for the talented driver.

Last, but in no way least, it was nineteen Budweiser Racing Texas Twisters taking the track for fifteen laps of racing. It was David Miller getting the jump from his pole position on the drop of the green flag. He was followed by Jared Bouchie, Jessie Call, Steven Crossley, and Gary White. G. White would get by Crossley before the initial lap was over, to get fourth.

Call would dispatch Bouchie to third on lap one. On lap three, Kevin Myers was side by side with G. White in turn one, after passing Crossley. They raced side by side to turn three where Myers took over fourth. Lap three and Myers would this time attack Bouchie, but couldn't get it down on the low side in turns one and two. But the low side worked for Myers in turn four of the same lap and he would get third from Bouchie. Myers fast run would end on lap four when he slowed dramatically coming out of turn two. Bouchie would suffer problems the same lap and he pulled his stricken car to the infield.

With the attrition, the lap five top five were Miller still in the lead, followed by Call, G. White, Nasty Nate Cullifer, and St. Crossley. On lap six a yellow was thrown for the spun car of last weeks winner, Keith Desmarais in turn three. On the caution the car of Scott Crossley rolled to a stop and had to pushed off the track. G. White also left the race under yellow. So the restart had Miller still up front, but with a buffer of two lapped cars between him and Cullifer in second. Then it was St. Crossley in third, Aaron White in fourth and James Dean in fifth.

On the restart, A. White got by St. Crossley for third. On lap seven, Chris Florio moved around Dean for fifth and A. White got under Cullifer in turn four to get second. Florio would get by St. Crossley for fourth, and then Tom Yagalla would get by St. Crossley to get into the top five. On lap nine, A. White went too high in turn four and Cullifer was able to regain the runner up spot. But A. White wasn't laying down so easily, and he got back by Cullifer on the back stretch on lap ten.

The second yellow of the race was thrown due to both J. D. Hardcastle and Brad Garrison stopping just out of turn four. Hardcastle's night was through, but Garrison continued on. Cullifer had to leave the racing surface due to a flat tire. He would rejoin at the back of the pack for the restart. So with four laps left as they restarted, it was still Miller in the lead, A. White second, Yagalla was in third, Florio and St. Crossley rounded out the top five. Yagalla would get second from A. White in turn four on the restart. A lap later and Florio would push A. White back another spot, taking over third as they raced down the back stretch.

With just two laps left, Yagalla made a move for the lead in turn two, dropping low and trying slide job Miller, but it did'nt work and Miller held on to the lead. Behind the fight up front, Desmarais was passing St. Crossley for fifth. As the leaders raced into turn four to the white flag, Yagalla again dove under Miller in a bid for the lead. They raced wheel to wheel under the white flag and into turn one. The battle was hot and heavy all the way around the track, and they were neck and neck as they raced off of four to the checkered flag. Miller would just beat Yagalla at the line by a half car length to record his first ever win in only his second ever start.

Miller had his car claimed by Dwayne Jones. Miller was smiling as he left the track with $500 in his pocket, and the winner's trophy to put on his mantle.
