The series opened the 2006 season at he beautiful, state of the art, facility on Houston's east side back in March with Chris Schild taking home all the gold with a pole and a race victory. Since then Schild has dropped to third in the standings but with two of the next three races at HMP Schild is looking to regain his old form. Drivers are coming into the Bayou Classic after a grueling weekend of road course racing back on August 5th and 6th. Rookie Cody Smith won his first TSRS race and fellow rookie, Kyle Sirizzotti, took home his second TXRacung.com Pole Award. Sirizzotti narrowly missed another pole to start the season at HMP in March. Veteran top guns, Tommy Gural and Schild sustained some damage at Texas World Speedway and could possibly have to miss the race For ticket information on the "Bayou Classic" at Houston Motorsports Park please visit the series web site at www.houstonmotorsportspark.com. Mary Ann Naumann
TSRS Late Models & THR Street Stocks coming to HMSP this weekend! The detailed schedule will be out later this evening. The track is available on Friday for Testing. I recommend later in the afternoon, as the Baker's make it available "under the lights" until midnight or so! On Saturday the track will open @ 11:00 am, testing begins at noon and the first time on the track for the THR SS is 1:40, followed by TSRS-LM. There will be 3 testing sessions for both classes, followed by qualifying. Both classes will be scored by transponders. HMP & TSRS will be providing transponders for the SS for this event at no charge! Hoilday Inn is our recommendation for your hotel for this weekend. Be sure and ask for the "Racers Rates". BIG Texas-hold-em game! 281.449.2311. Located off Beltway 8 & JFK. HMSP does allow overnight camping or your may stay with your rigs, there is always a party in the pits, usually near the Webster's! We are looking forward to a great weekend @ HMSP! Come be a part of it.
