ProTree
IHRA Division 4 Quick Rod Drag Racer Rockey Keyes was killed in a tragic accident yesterday at Houston Raceway Park.Details are sketchey at the moment, but from what I was told, Rockey was making his first time run of the day in his 66 Cobra Roadster and at the finish line smoke came out from under the car and went out of control. Not sure, possible oil got on the slicks.Sad loss for my Division and Rockey will truly be missed in the both IHRA and NHRA where he was a serious contender in the Loomis/Fargo sponsored Roadster.Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Family and Friends in this time of need. rebelracewriter
Always sad to hear about the loss of a local racer. It's like losing one of the family.
ProTree
Sure is Reb when it's one of your own racers,it hits home pretty hard.I know he was doing what he loved.I bet 9 seconds before it happened ,he had the front wheels about 2 ft in the air and carried em on out and had a smile on his face like always.
