rebelracewriter
Did they set up a short course using the front straight and pit road?

debwill
Some of the go-kart classes raced only on the front straightaway. However, the higher classes (seniors) raced the entire oval. They were almost reaching Sportsman speeds (low 22s and high 21s, from what I understand). Yes, one of the karts went high coming out of Turn 4 and hit the wall hard. The driver was thrown out of the kart and into the wall. It was not a pretty sight! Somehow he got up and walked away from the crash. I heard that he broke his collarbone and was very bruised and scratched up. They did take him by ambulance to the hospital, but I think it was mainly to get him checked out. I haven't heard anything more on his condition. Debbie
rebelracewriter
I don't know that I'd want to run SAS without AT LEAST a six point cage and five point harness!!!! OUCH!
