WOAI-TV Night at the Races

San Antonio, TX (July 25, 2006) – WOAI-TV has partnered with San Antonio Speedway to present a WOAI-TV Night at the Races this Saturday night, July 29, starting at 7:00 p.m.

WOAI-TV viewers will have a chance to take advantage of free tickets, kids’ discount coupons and a contest for a ride in an actual NASCAR Craftsman Truck.

Starting today, viewers will be able to print a coupon that will be posted on the WOAI-TV website at http://www.woai.com/home.aspx under the Sports tab. This coupon will give a free child’s admission (ages 7-12) with the purchase of an adult ticket for the July 29 race. Children that are ages six and under are always admitted free. This coupon will make it easier for families to go to the races together and become a part of the family atmosphere at the speedway.

More information about the WOAI-TV Night at the Races will be shared during the San Antonio Living show that is broadcast from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. each weekday morning on WOAI-TV. Free family packs of tickets will be given away on the San Antonio Living show, beginning with the Thursday morning broadcast.

WOAI-TV will also be sponsoring a drawing at San Antonio Speedway on Saturday night that will award a free ride in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck with Shelly Miles, who is a well-known morning personality on WOAI-TV. Miles gives traffic updates on the News 4 WOAI Today show, and she is also a reporter for the San Antonio Living Show and News 4 WOAI.

“We look forward to partnering with WOAI-TV and bringing lots of new fans out to San Antonio Speedway,” said Rick Day, San Antonio Speedway’s President and General Manager. “We feel that we have some great family fun to offer to the San Antonio community, and we’re happy that WOAI-TV wants to be a part of the racing action this Saturday night.”

The racing action on Saturday, July 29, will include the USRA Modifieds and Trucks, along with the NASCAR Late Model, Sportsman, Road Runner and Grand Stock classes. The first green flag will drop at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

Admission for Saturday night’s race is $15 for adults, $8 for Senior/Military with ID, $3 for children 7-12. Children 6 and under are free.

San Antonio Speedway is the only NASCAR sanctioned short-track in the state of Texas. It is located 3.5 miles south of Loop 410 on State Highway 16 South towards Poteet, near the new Toyota facility.
