Rain Checks to be honored at Upcoming Races

San Antonio, TX (July 24, 2006) - Unfortunately, severe thunderstorms forced the cancellation of the July 22 races at San Antonio Speedway. Since many drivers, fans and race teams had already purchased pit passes and grandstand admission tickets, the following rain check policy was announced at the speedway on Saturday night.

Any pit entry wristbands that were issued on Saturday, July 22, may be used for pit admission this upcoming Saturday, July 29, or the following Saturday, August 5.

Ticket stubs from grandstand admission tickets purchased on July 22 may be used as a credit towards the ticket purchase price at either of the next two races at San Antonio Speedway – on July 29 or August 5. The adult general admission charge for July 29 will be $15, and the admission charge for August 5 will be $20. The July 22 ticket stub may be used as a $10 credit toward either of those ticket purchases.

Similar credits will be honored on senior and military ticket purchases. Children's ticket prices (ages 7-12) are $3 for all races, so no additional charges will be incurred for rain check ticket stubs on either night. Children six and under are always admitted free of charge.

The racing action on Saturday, July 29, will include the USRA Modifieds and Trucks, along with the NASCAR Late Model, Sportsman, Road Runner and Grand Stock classes.

The grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m., with a live broadcast by Y-100 radio. In addition, Benchmark Mortgage will be sponsoring a truck display by Robert Richardson, who currently drives the #1 Chevrolet Silverado truck in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Richardson will be signing autographs at the front entrance to the grandstands, starting at 5:00 p.m. Richardson is from McKinney, Texas, and is a former USRA (ROMCO) Super Late Model driver.

The first green flag will drop at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

The USRA Super Late Models are scheduled to appear at San Antonio Speedway on August 5 for the USRA Texas Two-Step Nationals Part II event.

San Antonio Speedway is the only NASCAR sanctioned short-track in the state of Texas. It is located 3.5 miles south of Loop 410 on State Highway 16 South towards Poteet, near the new Toyota facility.

Discount coupons for kids’ free admission are available at all 13 Express Lube locations.
