txtom
You are probably talking about the Sealy Dragstrip, which runs under an IHRA sanction. It is a 1/8th mile track, seems to do very well. lonestar raceway

Mel
If you went by Sat night you probably noticed a couple of "Big Haulers" there, Gene Snow had his top fuel team there along with a couple of other big guns. Mel
blueoval
Speaking of dragstrips. The owners of Houston Motor Speedway are building a dragstrip right behind the asphalt track. Construction has already started.
Mel
Is that a dragstrip or another point to enter the pits? Looks awfully narrow to be a dragstrip. Mel
tqj3
I don't know about that construction, but Graham Baker told me last fall they had plans to put in a 1/8-mile dragstrip on one side of the property and a 1.3-mile road course on the other side. Don't know if they're still thinking that way.

rebelracewriter
It was announced by Mick Anderson, and was repeated to me by track officials when I queried them, that it will be an 1/8 mile dragstrip. Plans are for it to be open in about 10-12 weeks. I'm guessing that they will be eliminating the back corner of the circle track pits for a shut down area, but I never saw the plans.
