TSRS Announces ‘Major’ Changes To This Saturday’s Race At THR

The Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) and Thunder Hill Raceway (THR) have been supportive of Operation Interdependence and the armed services for years.

With the “TRIBUTE TO AMERICA’S FINEST- Operation Interdependence 75” coming up on Sunday, July 2, the late model series and the 3/8-mile asphalt oval will help Operation Interdependence®, Inc. volunteers, TSRS drivers and THR drivers to accept tax-deductible donations for the troops overseas.

However, TSRS and THR announced today they will step up for a branch of the armed services this coming Saturday. “We are being sponsored by the US Army & US Reserve Recruiting Office in San Marcos (TX),” announced THR co-owner Mary Ann Naumann. “We’re excited to announce that the sponsorship will add $1,000 to Saturday’s TSRS purse. Thus, TSRS will run now run in the Red, White & Blue 100.”

Naumann added, “Our Grand Marshall will be Sgt. Dennis Clark. We’re ecstatic to have this added sponsorship and to hook up with a branch of the armed forces. We’d like to encourage everyone to visit their web site, www.goarmy.com.”

THR also announced today there would be a change in Saturday’s racing program. Graham Baker, co-owner of Houston Motorsports Park, announced the Houston Pro Late Models, Sportsman Late Models and Pro Modifieds would be dropped form this week’s schedule. “Graham told us there was a conflict of schedules at the last minute,” Naumann stated. “We wanted to make sure those drivers had the appropriate time off in their schedules. We appreciate all that Graham and David and the HMP staff do for us and for racing in general.”

On July 2, Operation Interdependence®, Inc. volunteers, TSRS drivers and THR drivers to accept tax-deductible donations for shipping costs, or product

donations small enough to fit in a quart-sized baggie. The OI® Austin, TX

Shipping Center currently ships 21 boxes monthly, reaching more than a

thousand service men and women on deployment. Operation Interdependence® has reached more than one million service personnel since beginning in 2001.
