Casey Smith set for Miles & Miles of Racing Action

from Paige Miller

AUSTIN, TX (May 19, 2006) -- Casey Smith and his race team have been very busy these past weeks after coming off a dominate win in the USRA Super late Model Series at Thunder Hill Speedway on April 29th.

Casey has been preparing his #99 hotrod for the next USRA points race slated for June 10th at Texas Motor Speedway. "I can't wait to get back to a big track. Drafting was really fun", Casey commented. Two years ago, competing in the ASA National Tour, Casey ran the 1.5 mile Super Speedways, at Kentucky, Lowe’s and Atlanta and posted very impressive finishes. “We were a top-five car at just about all the Super Speedway events, even though we only had one short track car, we compensated by adding lots of bracing and did some modifications for the Speedways”

Casey has a thousand laps at the Texas Motor Speedway track... the 1/4 mile oval on the front stretch that is. He is a three time Legends Champion at the facility. Aside from being excited to return to the facility he really considers his home, he is looking forward to take to the 1.5 mile “Great American Speedway” for the first time.

“It is a privilege to run at Texas Motor Speedway, and I am very excited that Mr. Gossage (Texas Motor Speedway’s President and General Manager) has allowed the USRA Super late models this opportunity during the IRL week-end.” Casey said.

The team learned early this week the United States Racing Association (USRA) Super Late Model Series will host a “Texas Two-Step Nationals” which will be “two-stepping” into Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth on June 10, 2006, and San Antonio Speedway on June 17, 2006. The Texas-based USRA is offering $5,000.00 to win the 70-lap race at Texas Motor Speedway and another $5,000.00 to win the 150-lap event at San Antonio Speedway and a $5,000.00 bonus if a driver wins both races!

Casey and his team are excited that all their hard work and effort will be bestowed beginning Memorial Day week-end, competing at some of their favorite tracks in the deep South and will strut thru June. Smith will run the “prestigious” ½ mile Five Flag Speedway, Friday, May 26th, then head over to the “challenging” ½ mile Mobile Speedway in Alabama Saturday, May 27th, The team will travel back to Texas to prepare the car for the 1.5 mile Texas Motor Speedway track June 10th then its back to the ½ mile at San Antonio Speedway June 17th.

Casey dominated the USRA season opener at San Antonio Speedway in March and leads the USRA Super Late Model Series Points by 6 marks.
