In appreciation of all our guys and gals in uniform, we are having an Armed Forces Appreciation Day. Any Armed Forces personnel, past or present, can get in FREE Saturday night if they bring a photo of themselves in uniform. The pictures will be used to create a collage to honor all of our outstanding vets. “As a former member of the military, I know the hard work and sacrifice that the men and women in uniform do in service of us all,” said track promoter Pat Wilson. “We hope that this effort is appreciated by our military members as much as we appreciate them”. The photos can not be returned, and ID's are not acceptable. The FREE tickets are for the general admission grand stands. Also on tap is the “King of the Hill” race for the Corbin & Associates, Atty's I. M. C. A. Stock Cars. Last years winner, Eric Jones will be on hand to defend his crown. Last week over twenty cars were hand in this class, and the fight for the crown will be fierce. Next week, Corbin & Associates, Atty's will be sponsoring the Willy Palmer Memorial race. Extra cash will be up for grabs in all classes. To be eligible for the increased purse, drivers must have Willy Palmer's name displayed on their car. An extra $100 will be awarded to the Demolition Derby car with the best cartoon themed paint job. Rules and regulations can be found on the Web site. Gates open at 6:00 PM and racing starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $3 for kids 6-12 and kids under 6 are free. Season passes are available as well. New for fans this year is the ability to purchase their tickets online with a credit card. Just go to the Texas Thunder Speedway web site, and click on the “Buy and Print Tickets” button. Also you can use your Visa or Master Card in the tracks souvenir and concession stands.
