TPS and TSRS at Thunder Hill Raceway on May 27th

The Texas Pro Sedanswill hold the fifth event of their 2006 racing season at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, Texas on Saturday night May 27th. The event will be the second of five TPS series races hosted by Thunder Hill Raceway during the 2006 racing season.

 

The Texas Pro Sedans racing format will consist of 2 Qualifying Heat races at approximately 5:45pm followed by a 20 Lap Feature Race at approximately 7:00pm for the four cylinder Texas Pro Sedan series stock cars.

 

A field of 26 TPS drivers have filed their entry for the May 27th special event. Included in the race entry list is Donnie Moore of Hutto, Texas. Moore is the driver who has won all four TPS races so far during the 2006 season. He will again be in the drivers seat of the George Merrell #70 VW Scirocco. He won the first three races of the TPS season at San Antonio Speedway. Moore’s last race win was at Thunder Hill Raceway on April 29th. Donnie Moore leads the TPS points chase by a margin of 26 markers ahead of second place.

 

In addition, the next four drivers in TPS points standings have filed their entrys. The second highest in points is Jack Dishman of Devine. He will pilot his Ford Mustang. Holding down third place in the standings is the defending Texas Pro Sedan Champion Sergio Hexselof San Antonio. He will compete in his familiar #20 VW Rabbit. Fourth place driver Bryce Dishman of Devine will drive the #1 Ford Mustang. The fifth place point holder is Randy Larsen of Wimberly. He will be at the wheel of his fan favorite look-alike #53 VW Sedan known as “Herbie”.

 

A wide variety of car makes are expected to participate in the TPS races. They include VW Scirocco, VW Rabbit, 2005 VW, VW Sedan (air cooled), VW Karmen Ghia, Chevrolet Cobalt, Ford Mustang, Thunderbird, Taurus, Probe and Pinto, A Honda CRX, Dodge Neon and Datsun 510 are also expected to compete during the 2006 TPS season.

 

A full racing program featuring the Texas Super Racing Series will headline the nights racing program. Also on the race schedule is the Texas Dwarf Car Association, Allison Legacy Cars together with Thunder Hill Raceway Hobby Stock, Street Stock and Grand Stocks. They are all scheduled to compete on May 27th at the 3/8 mile asphalt Thunder Hill Raceway, D shaped oval in Kyle, Texas.
